I won’t allow the PFW Mastodons to be disrespected like that. The season ended when they lost to IUSB, or whatever that school was, last week

Cal is not good and neither is ND this yearIs that what this is about? There is a basketball thread for that. What people are pissed because we lost at 2 in the morning playing an away against a good Cal team? The crap people make up reasons to get angry and pissed about.
OkCal is not good and neither is ND this year
That wasn't my message. I am just frustrated at the state of both bball programs. Talent is one thing, consistent coaching deficiencies is another. It was a horrendous no call, but to subtly allege fraud or collision over a Notre Dame - Cal basketball game is a little much.
Got ya. Misunderstood the message. They lost me after the Purdue Fort Wayne L.That wasn't my message. I am just frustrated at the state of both bball programs. Talent is one thing, consistent coaching deficiencies is another.
MF couldn't be doing what he’s doing at the level he is doing it without Pete’s full fledged support and empowerment. This thread always begins with the most vague starter... Lol what do we have now

The power this 8,000 student private Catholic school in northern Indiana holds in college athletics is pretty amazing. Swarbrick and Pete both present, from what I can tell the only school with 2 reps.

I'm all for regulations but doesn't that just set up the SEC to bring the bag man back out?
I agree with this and I would think that Bevacqua does too.I'm all for regulations but doesn't that just set up the SEC to bring the bag man back out?
Yep. In a sport that has become overwhelmed by short-term, transactional, thinking, Notre Dame promises something more lasting. We seem to be doing ok in a world where bags are supreme and rules don’t matter. Honestly, I wouldn’t care if we keep the status quo lol. Our kids generally stay because they want the degree and we have the money to pay for the transfers We need and recruits we need. We’ve shockingly benefited from the current set up.
Not just us, all the big money programs are happy, although they won't admit it. No idea how this is going to play out.Yep. In a sport that has become overwhelmed by short-term, transactional, thinking, Notre Dame promises something more lasting.
There truly are players and coaches who value that (and we have the resources to make it worthwhile for them to choose it). That creates a culture of people who are there for something bigger than themselves. Nurtured by excellent leadership (which we also have the resource to employ).
So, for now anyway, yes I think the current setup oddly works to our advantage.
