That wasn't my message. I am just frustrated at the state of both bball programs. Talent is one thing, consistent coaching deficiencies is another.

I wonder why Shrewsberry hasn’t been successful? I think he’ll have a better team than the past two seasons, but you can’t be in year 3 losing to Purdue FW…

I think with college football the power doesn’t necessarily come from “a team” but conferences. Not sure who is all there but probably still outmanned by conference representation. The conferences are going to do what’s best for their conference as a whole.

Agree. I prefer no rules if the alternative is rules that only we're going to play by.

We seem to be doing ok in a world where bags are supreme and rules don’t matter. Honestly, I wouldn’t care if we keep the status quo lol. Our kids generally stay because they want the degree and we have the money to pay for the transfers We need and recruits we need. We’ve shockingly benefited from the current set up.

Yep. In a sport that has become overwhelmed by short-term, transactional, thinking, Notre Dame promises something more lasting.
There truly are players and coaches who value that (and we have the resources to make it worthwhile for them to choose it). That creates a culture of people who are there for something bigger than themselves. Nurtured by excellent leadership (which we also have the resource to employ).

So, for now anyway, yes I think the current setup oddly works to our advantage.

Not just us, all the big money programs are happy, although they won't admit it. No idea how this is going to play out.
