So are we looking at 7 home games next year (Rice, Mich, Purdue, L'ville, UNC, NW, Stanford), 2 neutral sites (Cuse, Navy), and 3 road games (FSU, AZ St, USC)? Funny schedule. 11-1 would get us in one would think.

I also don't think the 13th game does much for us. The only teams who are resume-boosting we could play during the conference chanpionship week would be BYU or an AAC team. Just doesn't seem worth it.

The first time something like this happens in the BCS playoff system, I'll bet Notre Dame's AD will be looking at putting the Irish in a 13th game to even their record up with the teams who play in conference championships.

And it will happen. The gap between 2 and 3 is usually clearer than that between 4 and 5-8. The end of the BCS will result in more controversy, not less.

It's not about a resume boost for us. It's about negating some of the effect of the resume boost that conference champions will get.

Kind of a revealing moment in the post-game interview during which Kelly was asked about how nice it was to play his younger guys early. Kelly even laughs and looks right at Swarbrick too. Question is at 6:49.

Just catching up on some of the scheduling discussion. Good catch here in the Air Force post-game interview. The reporter question was a great one in that it enabled Kelly to make a point to Swarbrick publicly concerning scheduling. It seemed to have been made in good taste, and with some humor. Kelly made his desire very clear, that he would like to get the younger guys reps in week 1. The biggest positive I can take away from that moment is the reality that Kelly & Swarbrick are very likely having these conversations behind the scenes as well and it can only be a matter of time before they get the team to a more ideal schedule on an annual basis.

Interesting thing to me is that this basically says no more ACC games will be Shamrock Series, even though next year's is.

I wish one home & home was against a team from the Big 12, Big 10, or SEC and the other was against a team not from the Power 5. It would be fun to have a road game at a mid-major. The home only will always be some trash team like Rice.

That picture doesn't make sense. The Shamrock Series game can be used any week, it doesn't get its own spot.

2015 Notre Dame vs Boston College will be both a Shamrock game and an ACC game, for example. I think any team not named USC or Stanford could be used.

That's fine. Georgia/A&M/etc. are recruiting and ratings draws unto themselves. You throw some fancy uniforms on, play a game at a cool location, and suddenly your dreary game against Purdue/BC/etc. is sexy.

I would actually love a SS game in So Cal... San Diego (even though the stadium sucks) or better yet the Rose Bowl, though I'm sure UCLA may be a problem there.

Angel Stadium also holds a number of football games every year...

Ah yes, New Orleans. Where the streets are lined with trash and have the distinct smell of rotting citrus, grain alcohol and urine. Alleys are utilized as a place to push all the trash into to clear the street (seriously). Oh, and LSU fans. And the "Super"Dome.

Now a game in Hot-lanta on the other hand... maybe Tampa.. I could get behind.
