Yes.
Can they put Mathias at FS and move Redfield to SS?
Yes.
Your nephew is a tough SOB.
Sloppy but I'll take the W
Wow.
Other than 1 catch, #6 effectively took their best WR out of the game. I think he had 2 catches. They threw away from him all game.
Will Fuller had basically an extra defender on him all game over the top. They weren't going to let him beat them deep.
The ND OL didn't get "Dominated". In pass protection, they were pretty good unless Temple brought 15 (or so it seemed), and they were bound and determined to stop Prosise (which they did).
I know everyone expected to thump Temple because they played bad against ECU last week, and that's the only Temple football they've watched. But that's a really good, really amped up Temple team. Should we/could we have won by more? Sure. But I'd pick that Temple team to beat both Houston and Memphis if they play like that (yea, AAC, but those are some pretty good teams).
We beat a pretty legit T25 team tonight on the road and played pretty bad inside the 20. That's not an awful way to end the weekend. Pretty sure we're the only team that can say that this weekend.

Thanks....
1. This team is probably a Top Ten team, but they are far from complete.
2. Having said 1.; Of Notre Dame's 460 yards and 3 TDs, ND's stars, Will Fuller and CJ Prosise combined for 107 yards and 1 TD. In other words, when Temple did effectively take ND's stars out of the game, the offense was still able to get work done and make hay with the supporting cast. Perhaps we *should* revisit Brian Kelly's recruiting, player development, and play calling. DeShone Kizer, Torii Hunter, Jr., and Chris Brown were the key contributors for the game.
3. I would hope that Temple's Defense earned some respect tonight. They were very good. They are disciplined, fast, and cover and tackle very well.
4. Kizer had a great game, but still has some glaring weaknesses. He's still too hesitant, too often, in the pocket when no one is open downfield. Quit trying to hit a home run. Tuck it and take off and get the "guaranteed" 6-7 yards, or throw it into the first row of the stands. But quit holding on to it, or trying to dance around looking for a running lane all the way to the end zone.
5. The Defense was shaky at times, but also played very well at times. Overall, I think they were pretty good. Held Temple to <125 yards rushing, <200 yards passing, and got one HUGE turnover. The talent level of the defense has gotten better every year for the last few years, and I think Kelly will have it worked out pretty soon. The D line is solid. Linebacker is getting better, with Coney, Martini, and Morgan about to take over.
6. Tough, hard nosed win. As bad as they are for my blood pressure; I will take winning these games over the losing them during the Weis years. You have to admit; there is no quit in this team, and there appears to actually be confidence that they will find a way to win the game............... unlike in the live chat.
My game ball was going to go to Kizer, but I just can't overlook his mistakes. He still looks unsure of what to do in the pocket too often. The first INT was just a really terrible mistake on his part. The second INT was just bad bad luck. So I am going to give my game ball to........... the Defensive line. They got good pressure all night long, and helped really limit Temple's running game.

I mostly agree, except I think part of our physical softness is a product of mental softness, specifically early in games. I feel like we never get off the bus ready to dominate against inferior opponents. Then we toughen over the four quarters.1. Team is mentally tough
2. Team is physically soft, especially on the lines
3. Kizer has done a great job
4. Pitt will do the same thing Temple did, drag ND into the sewer for a s-itfight that will last 60 minutes
5. Playoff talk should cool off, if not completely go away
6. Being 7-1 is remarkable considering how it has happened

Nah, we've had a couple of fast starts this year and then cooled off only to heat up again in the 4th. Virginia comes to mind.I mostly agree, except I think part of our physical softness is a product of mental softness, specifically early in games. USC is the only game I can recall where that dynamic flipped.
Herbie kept saying how Temple can't go into power formations and expect to run on us because we're physically superior. The exact flipside of that is that WE should be able to get into power formations and push THEM around. Instead everything is on the periphery.
Where has Corey Robinson disappeared to? They don't even seem to look his way anymore... maaaybe a couple times a game. If it's not a completion, they never look back to him later???
Robinson plays the same position as Chris Brown.. Brown is playing so well, Robinson isn't on the field as much as last year. They looked for him in the end zone a couple times
Very respectfully disagree. Our defensive line played lights out.
I expected Day to have a big year but Rochelle has been unreal. Great game by these guys and they've been anything but soft.
Offensive line could've played better obviously but Temple was selling out against the run. Tough to run against the box they had. ND still put up 24 points with two redzone turnovers against a really, really good defense.
I was impressed with Temple, especially on D. Looked very athletic and disruptive.
Kizer is a stud.
At this point in BK's tenure, the constant redzone issues must be a schematic issue. I thought this year would be different with a true dual-threat guy at QB (Malik first but now Kizer). The offense has played great all year but something has to change in the redzone or it's going to cost us games.
I know our projected starter at TE is out but the production from that position seems to diminish every year. I'm not sure if it's Booker or other factors but it's not great.
I hope Day is okay, kid is a warrior.
All in all, good win against a good team. Gonna be tough to get up for a noon kickoff on Saturday against Pitt but these guys will find a way.
No way we're not a top 10 team?
We have one loss and that's to an undefeated Clemson team in a hurricane on the road.
We're essentially on our third string QB and RB coming out of spring.
We just beat an undefeated team on the road that was playing in the most important game in their HISTORY.
Bama lost to a bad Ole Miss team.
Stanford lost to a bad Northwestern team and they're currently losing to WSU.
We have the best loss of the one loss teams.
I'm not sure what's more depressing honestly, coming on this site after a loss or a win. You know how many teams show up and play their best game 13 times a year? Zero.
We didn't show up unprepared or not focused. Kizer made some costly mistakes against a really good defense.
Why not enjoy a win? I completely understand that's it's a board for expressing opinions and views but I honestly question how much football some of you watch and understand lol. Every single team in the country has games like this. Therefore, we are absolutely deserving of a top 10 ranking..... in my very humble and drunken opinion.
Temple fans, were friendly while tailgating but come game time the ones near me were obnoxious and ignorant in the stands. I had to leave by end of 3rd qtr, I didn't want my kids near those idiots as my blood was boiling. I should have known better though, these are also Eagles Fans as well and as an Eagles Fan I know what to expect in the stadium...
Win is a win, Temple Defense is legit, disappointed we shot ourselves in the foot with turnovers but that Temple Defense is stout.
Move on.....#beatpitt
I understand what you are saying and the upset is always possible. But knowing that Temple gets the recruits who get NOs from Penn State, Pitt, Maryland, West Virginia, Rutgers and possibly Navy means that ND should not be in a competitive game with them.
