A W is a W no matter what so I'll take it. It wasn't super impressive. Really forgettable all around. I hope the CFP committee just ignores this game.

You want the committee to ignore a road win against a top 25 team? K bro.

I honestly love how some assclowns come out after wins and during the game just to shit on our team. Go root for Alabama and leave the rest of us alone.

The biggest worries to ND's playoff chances is Elijah missing the first half next week against a team who loves throwing the ball and..

Stanford being down to Wash St

If you're going to start a post game thread, the mods have requested(years ago) that you specify the date (year) in the thread title, so that they can distinguish them in the archives.

Thanks....

1. This team is probably a Top Ten team, but they are far from complete.

2. Having said 1.; Of Notre Dame's 460 yards and 3 TDs, ND's stars, Will Fuller and CJ Prosise combined for 107 yards and 1 TD. In other words, when Temple did effectively take ND's stars out of the game, the offense was still able to get work done and make hay with the supporting cast. Perhaps we *should* revisit Brian Kelly's recruiting, player development, and play calling. DeShone Kizer, Torii Hunter, Jr., and Chris Brown were the key contributors for the game.

3. I would hope that Temple's Defense earned some respect tonight. They were very good. They are disciplined, fast, and cover and tackle very well.

4. Kizer had a great game, but still has some glaring weaknesses. He's still too hesitant, too often, in the pocket when no one is open downfield. Quit trying to hit a home run. Tuck it and take off and get the "guaranteed" 6-7 yards, or throw it into the first row of the stands. But quit holding on to it, or trying to dance around looking for a running lane all the way to the end zone.

5. The Defense was shaky at times, but also played very well at times. Overall, I think they were pretty good. Held Temple to <125 yards rushing, <200 yards passing, and got one HUGE turnover. The talent level of the defense has gotten better every year for the last few years, and I think Kelly will have it worked out pretty soon. The D line is solid. Linebacker is getting better, with Coney, Martini, and Morgan about to take over.

6. Tough, hard nosed win. As bad as they are for my blood pressure; I will take winning these games over the losing them during the Weis years. You have to admit; there is no quit in this team, and there appears to actually be confidence that they will find a way to win the game............... unlike in the live chat.

My game ball was going to go to Kizer, but I just can't overlook his mistakes. He still looks unsure of what to do in the pocket too often. The first INT was just a really terrible mistake on his part. The second INT was just bad bad luck. So I am going to give my game ball to........... the Defensive line. They got good pressure all night long, and helped really limit Temple's running game.

No chance against a top 4 team?

We lost to Clemson on the road, prime time, in a hurricane by two points...

We play up and down to our opponents, period.

Temple's offense was rated 108 in the nation. What do you think Baylor or TCU would do to this secondary? The pass to Fuller to win the game would have been an INT to even an average DB. Luckily it was Temple

Can you imagine complaining about a close top 20 win against an undefeated team before Kelly?

A win is a win.

We have the talent we need to make the playoffs, we just shoot ourselves in the foot way too much. When we didn't in 2012, we went undefeated, when have every other year, we lose, plain and simple
Ummm, we won. Soooo, might need to edit your narrative.

My thoughts:

1. Outside of the last INT, #6 looked like he never played a college game before.

2. Offensive line had troubles all night against a weak team.

3. Where was Will Fuller??????????

4. Chris Brown has become a very dependable receiver.

5. Great block by #13 on the first TD.'

6. I live in PA and know the recruits that Temple gets. If the ND OL gets dominated by this crew, there is no chance against a top 4 team. Temple gets what is barely left of D-I talent.

Wow.

Other than 1 catch, #6 effectively took their best WR out of the game. I think he had 2 catches. They threw away from him all game.

Will Fuller had basically an extra defender on him all game over the top. They weren't going to let him beat them deep.

The ND OL didn't get "Dominated". In pass protection, they were pretty good unless Temple brought 15 (or so it seemed), and they were bound and determined to stop Prosise (which they did).

I know everyone expected to thump Temple because they played bad against ECU last week, and that's the only Temple football they've watched. But that's a really good, really amped up Temple team. Should we/could we have won by more? Sure. But I'd pick that Temple team to beat both Houston and Memphis if they play like that (yea, AAC, but those are some pretty good teams).

We beat a pretty legit T25 team tonight on the road and played pretty bad inside the 20. That's not an awful way to end the weekend. Pretty sure we're the only team that can say that this weekend.

Some people just troll so hard.

Hard to turn the other cheek to some comments in this thread and the GameDay thread haha.

It's Halloween and we just beat a top ranked team on the road. Go eat some fucking candy corn and chillax homies.

Being Will f*ckin Fuller and scoring game winning TD's.

Being Will Fuller? He was absent almost the whole game and had about 22 yards until that last catch. He abused a great DB against USC and disappeared against Temple

1. #6 sealed the game against USC also. Can't win every matchup but winning the match ups that count is what matters.

2. The strongest part of Temple is their defense.

3. Fuller was in the end zone with the winning TD.

4. He has really stepped up this year.

5. Lutua has been a great blocker all year.

6. Alabama gets better talent than Tennessee but they only won by 5 last week. Ole Miss gets better talent than Memphis and Ole Miss got beat. Its college football anything can happen on a big stage.

Probably the least excited I've been about a ND victory in a long time.

- completely unimpressed with our inability to run the ball against Temple. I get that Temple has nice numbers this year, and they're not a terrible defense, but FFS, the talent gap between these two teams is huge. If you can't run on Temple, who can you run on?

- Kizer had a nice game with his legs. He made a few dumb passes and it bit us.

- The play calling, especially in the red zone, was awful. No idea why we didn't bother to line up in single back (pistol) and ram the ball down their throats. The few runs we attempted came from zone read and outside of the one huge run from Kizer, it was completely ineffective.

- The defense played okay. The defensive line was good, the secondary wasn't. Luke was bad, and KVR was awful outside of the one big play he made late (kudos to him).

- Temple is a decent team but this is a team that we should have beaten comfortably. We will get no favors from the committee for squeaking by on the skin of our teeth. If/when we're out of the top 10 when the rankings come out on Tuesday I won't be mad. We don't really deserve to be in the top 10 at this point.

- Glad we won, but yeah... not exactly pumped or excited. For the vast majority of this game, we simply did not play very well.

Temple is not a legit T25 team. They have an above average defense with a piss poor offense.

A few thoughts:

The defensive line was tremendous. Temple really couldn't run all night.

That call on Shumate was garbage. Incidental contact when the guy came down on him. It may have been letter of the law, but it's a dumb law.

I'm baffled as to why Prosise is such a good running back except in obvious short yardage situations. He gets stuffed routinely on third and short. Or is it Nick Head-Bob Martin's fault?

Chris Brown had himself a game. I think we've got to work Alize Jones into the offense more. As much as I love Fuller it feels like we need to spread things around.

Very very interesting QB decision looms in the spring. Kizer's the real deal, even if his ceiling may be lower than Hayes'

Man, I'll take the win but just one of many observations... we have one of the weakest screen running teams ever. Why does everyone else make it look so easy? Our OL just doesn't do it in this area.

Comparing Alabama and Tennessee to what Temple gets is not even close. Tennessee would take all the 4 star players that Alabama didn't have room for. Temple takes the 2 star players that have hopes of playing D-1 football instead of playing at Shippensburg or Villanova

With this again? It is so tired. After the Virginia game, USC was going to score 3,000 points against us. If this team was 5-3 I could understand this nonsense, but you've lost one game by two points at the last second to a top-3 team on the road in a hurricane. If they haven't been exposed yet, maybe they just aren't going to be exposed as actually as awful as some of you guys think.

I think it is so frustrating because at times we look so good but continually can't put teams away. A win on the road is always good but we will have to play much better next week

Looking forward to Alize Jones getting the offense down and being a focal point
