My favorite part of the video was Stockton's move on Hegarty. I know Hegarty is a young guy but it was a great-looking move. I'm hopeful Stockton becomes a contributor before it's all said and done.

Not to pick on him, but contrary to some reports Heggie does not seem to be coming around ... He looked really bad twice in that video.

He was originally going to be 4, but switched to 34, his dad's, and josh's, number (43) backwards

Yeah he wanted 4 last year but had to switch because he was on a few special teams units with Gary Gray.

Really? I wouldn't have started him over TJ or Riddick either, and the other spot was/is Eifert. There is a spot for him this year and he should do. Trust me I want Davaris to grab the position and never to let go but odds are its going to be a rotation of guys.

I'm curious about this too. I think 247 listed him with the CAT LBs in their spring practice preview. Not sure whether it worked out like that or not, though.

Shembo may have 10+ sacks this year. It will be very tough to run on our front 7. If we can bring some serious heat with some blitzes this year we our stout on D.

Shembo honestly reminds me of a more clean/less nasty James Harrison. Harrison is 6' 240... Shembo is something around 6'1" or 6'2" 250... and both play a similar style. They're bulls. They're so strong and fast at the point of attack that they can drive through or past bigger OTs. Obviously, not saying I think he'll be an All-Pro.... but I just think there are a lot of similarities in the way they attack.

What I really want to see is how the "star" position/DOG linebacker turns out. If we can get a playmaker there we'll be in serious business.

I'm hoping Goodman can have a Robby Parris type senior year. If he is a solid possession type reciever I will be thrilled. Fingers crossed for Goodman, hoping he goes out on top. I know he was compared to Shark when he was recruited but I think we didn't realize how special Shark really was.

I think Goody will have an even better last year than Paris. Not to knock Paris but Goodman is more athletic and has much more God-given talents. If he keeps up his good work we might see him as our number 1 receiver this year. I'm hesitant to say that, but we normally have a senior or two that finally figure it out and have breakout years. This year its going to be Goodman.

Goodman actually looked pretty fast. I feel all the QB's minus Tommy put a zip on the ball when they throw. Obviously, a small sample.

I noticed this, the same receivers seemed to have more yardage after the catch when everyone else threw to them. All I could figure was it was release and zip on the ball; because the balls all seemed to come into the same general area.

Spond can be that guy...he just needs to stay healthy so he can stay on the field...

Spond has the perfect attributes for being the DOG OLB. He was a QB and a safety in high school so he can read QBs and knows where the ball is going.

And as far as the second CB spot...

Agreed about Kap, and Shembo. I would like to add Day; all three move like hell on wheels, and get leverage under pads really well. A) I don't think KLM is second team anything, B) Shembo and Slaughter among others are going to cause nightmares this season, C) I certainly see why Day is getting second team reps. He is unstopable!

We talk about breakout years for seniors and we think of jonas gray---but there is a big difference between jonas and goody. Jonas looked like he was ready to break a big run everytime he carried the ball since he was a frosh--sometimes he fumbled--sometimes he got hurt-sometimes he missed a blitz pick-up,-most of the time he just couldn't win over the HC & Armando who was solid at all apsects.

But jonas showed what he had in speed and running ability during the times he did get a chance.

Goody on the other hand has NEVER asserted himself physically or otherwise in any game situations. He has had a single big play and a couple of good catches in his entire career.
He has not gotten open--he has dropped balls--he has mostly disappeared during the times he did get in the game.

Color me TOTALLY skeptical of all this goodman talk. I simply DO NOT believe it. However he does in pratice will not translate into game action. When defensive backs play hard against goodman he disappears , and personally that is what i expect to see this season as well.

I expect very few catches and even less big plays in 2012 from jon. Expecting something else based on coach speak and a few practice snippets is fine, but i am quite certain disappointment in Goody's real time performance is coming.

There have been a ton of clips of Atkinson throughout all of spring ball. I guess coach Kelly wasn't joking about getting him onto the field more.

On one of the clips in this last week it showed Tony A showing Geo A how and when to plant his foot. The emphasis made it look like it was multiple comments over a practice and that Geo was getting it. In all the clips since that his running seemed to improve markedly. He seems to be a guy who has caught up to the speed of the game, and is now ready to get some real instruction and put it to good use.

Oh, and all the backs are blocking better this year, especially Wood and Riddick. So much for the prowess of former Coaches W and H.

If people are just now noticing Tommy's throws don't have near the velocity of Golson's or Hendrix's...then you haven't been paying attention.

-Is it me or does it seem that every time Kap is shown in a practice video he absolutely demolishes his blocker?

-Carlo looks like he is playing with the most intensity on defense. He really wants his spot back.

-Daniel Smith looks really, really good catching the deep ball.

-Why did we have to watch Teo stretching in the middle of the video?

-Lynch was looking really good shedding blocks to stop the run. One of his only weaknesses last year.

I would love to see Goodman breakout, but I have serious, serious doubts.

First of all in the later clips where he ran crossing, sq in routes, whatever, he seemed to leave his defender wo a jock strap. Second, Goody has gotten religion. He has seen the light at the alter of St. Senior of the last chance.

Good video, showed a lot about the team that maybe we didn't see in previous videos.

Particularly liked Jarrett Grace, Daniel Smith, Riddick and GAIII.

Loved to see Goodman... looks great so far this spring.

Never get tired of seeing Golson's arm strength.

Pretty deep ball by Kiel for the TD.

Tate Nichols is an absolute beast. Seemed to handle Lynch well in the drills we were shown.

On the d line, KLM looks fantastic and is really coming on strong after his surgery. Also love the way Sheldon Day is playing in his first exposure to college ball.

Loved the Ben Councell burst through the line and take down of Toma.

I had Daniel Smith and Councell/Grace as my breakout performers and see no need to deviate from that just yet.

Getting super excited to see it all at the spring game. Go Irish!

Don't disagree with a word as usual. But Tate is a beast. Kelly likes Niklas vs Williams? I like Nichols vs Lynch. Massive impact, could be two future AA, write it down.

I would argue that when Goodman used to get some work in the wildcat formation he always looked faster and more physical than as a WR.

It always seemed like he played a little scared and did too much thinking in the past. It slowed him down and made him a much less effective WR. He has always had the tools, but from the looks of it, he is starting to utilize them.

Did you see the impact he had on the sled? Just a quick shot, and wow!

I don't think in the past JGoody had a problem with impact, I think he was just unsure of himself. He was thinking the whole thing outloud, and self critical, which will kill you.

If people are just now noticing Tommy's throws don't have near the velocity of Golson's or Hendrix's...then you haven't been paying attention.

I'm thinking most like me are looking at the qb competition in as fair of light as possible. I know my comment wasn't that there was a difference, just that it was so great it look as if it severely disadvantages the receiver, if not puts him at risk!
