Michigan fans can complain all they want about due process.

There’s a reason, despite all their bluster, that Michigan dropped seeking an injunction. They were given additional evidence that the NCAA had obtained (which the Big Ten received).

I get ND fans’ hatred of Michigan but this whole thing smells bad. Most NCAA investigations take years. The BIG basically came out and suspended Harbaugh with no evidence he had anything to do with it and without any type of due process. Mean while they had mountains of evidence of wrong doing at other institutions, North Carolina to name just one, and they get nothing.

The UNC situation was a whole different ball of wax. While UNC's fake classes were egregious, the NCAA didn't feel they had the authority to govern that matter necessarily since the classes were composed of non-athletes as well (athletes did disproportionately make up the population).

While the NCAA admitted UNC's behavior was ridiculous, they deferred punishment to the University's accrediting body (who governs the classes offered and educational quality of the school) who placed them on probation for a year. That was a slap on the wrist, but if UNC lost accreditation, think about the impact that would have had on the thousands of degrees they've given out through the years. The NCAA and any potential punishment from them paled in comparison to running afoul of their accrediting body.

I wasn’t arguing on their behalf. I guess they can but I would still think there would be some type due process for that. I have never heard of the NCAA working working with a conference and lack no information during an on going investigation before. That’s it.

Also, the Big Ten suspended him, not the NCAA, which means your comment about UNC has nothing to do with it. The NCAA still hasn't done shit to Michigan and a 3 game suspension is a fucking slap on the wrist of someone running a program that had this level of spying going on. Not to mention, the NCAA's evidence collecting and investigation started several months ago now.

Most NCAA investigations are academic and off field eligibility type issues. This is in game integrity spanning years with evidence out there for all to see along with evidence that hasn’t potentially. With all the hype, if the NCAA does nothing this could and should be their own death penalty. Imagine the NCAA does nothing and UM beats an SEC darling Georgia or Alabama… if the SEC isn’t happy it’s not good for the NCAA.

Yeah, and it literally changed the outcomes of games. That's the big difference here between this and anything that came before his. Shocking (not shocking) that Michigan is not nearly as dominant before and after their cheating than what they were during their cheating. As a coach, if I know exactly what a team is going to do every play, it's like knowing the lottery numbers the day before. You're going to win big. This level of cheating that impacts the game has never happened before.
