I think we can all agree that Michigan's wins since 2021 and through this year have a giant asterisk on them. Never let them forget it
Ass-wipes are cheating their way to a Natty this year, that's for certain! Fuck Meatchicken!!!!

Doubt any other fanbase including ours would be acting much different if they/we were one win away from a natty

You are missing the larger point - Fvck Michigan and fvck Alabama for letting them sneak out a win last night. It really makes me question the meaning of life and if there is a God when that stadium manages to not get smited all night. 11.0 earthquate or SMOD - is it really too much to ask?

There are zero Michigan fans that GAF about cheating. They will all just point at the scoreboard and laugh. I hope they all get ocular syphilis and lose by 50 to Washington.
I’m finding that out to be true… a lot of “but players got help on papers at ND and they appealed the vacated wins so they didn’t take accountability” garbage.

Yep. Just look at how many people (led by the ND athletic department) refuse to remove the vacated wins from 2012 and 2013.

I want to make a political post about how everyone 100% does what you're saying and no one "resigns in disgrace" anymore but then I would be a hypocrite and not follow our own rules.
That's more observational than political, but I digress.

I'd sacrifice one win on ND's schedule next year to get a UW win on Monday. I realize that'd keep us out of the dance but Michigan needs to lose this opportunity, then have their coaching staff decimated and program sanctioned in the worst way possible.

The whiplash from this high they're on to a multi-faceted program death would be better than winning.

I'd sign up for that in a heartbeat.

Though, I don't think 1 loss keeps us out of the 12 team playoff next year. But, I would also even if it did.

Michigan will respond just like Kansas , UNC and Harrison Ford to the Bruno NCAA.

If Michigan loses and Harbaugh immediately leaves for the NFL it would be comparable to 2012 where we went from playing in the championship game to getting crushed, Kelly interviewing with the Eagles and the Manti - Girlfriend fiasco.

Please God... make this happen!!!!

Who gives a fuck? That’s why there’s five guys doing goofy signs on the sidelines because stealing is just a part of the game.

But it's not the stealing on the sidelines, which IIRC is legal. It was having guys go to future opponents games and record the signals and plays.

Correct, as I noted above. It's only Michigan fans, players, coaches, etc that don't understand the difference. A real shocker of a situation.

Stealing signs in high school baseball wasn't a huge deal. You watched what the coaches did and you could figure it out from the field and or dugout. This had been going on in the Majors going back to the early 1900s. Now these douchebags in the Majors have cameras all over their home ballparks, banging trash cans, etc.

It's become more prevalent with football as the game has changed. More passing, more sophistication with offense, so the plays are called in from the sidelines. We could often figure out from the press box what calls were coming in from the sideline. Again, not the end of the world. We did our best to change things up on our end in order to not have tendencies.

There is a very obvious difference when it comes to stealing signs from the sideline, field or press box in a football game versus the network of sophisticated fuckery Michigan had going on with this Stalions goof.

They all knew about it and frankly I'd be surprised that "everyone" had/has systems like what Michigan had been doing.

Personally as a coach and fan of the game, I think any attempt to read another teams signs is against the spirit of the game, but what Michigan did was just egregiously unethical and unfair.

Wait—just as a reminder, from the very beginning it has been common knowledge that all teams will always try to steal/interpret signs during a game. The legality and morality of that is not in question. What McCarthey said is conflating the two issues to appear more innocent.

What Michigan has done wrong is create a highly sophisticated system of stealing signs prior to games by such means as recording sidelines via video and hiring people to go to games or future opponents, giving Michigan time to analyze and plan ahead. These are the unethical and illegal activities. Nobody else in college football is dishonest or dumb enough to do it (at least so brazenly).

Can’t lose sight of it through this kind of slight of hand.

They live in Michigan. What do we expect?

(Apologies to those on the board that live in Michigan.)

The comparison is to the Houston Astros. In baseball, you're allowed to steal signs. Part of the game. But what you're NOT allowed to do is break a bunch of crystal clear rules and use technology to steal signs. That's cheating and there are consequences for cheating.

What Michigan did is exactly what the Astros did, except maybe worse.

This may appear hyperbolic and extreme, but if the NCAA doesn't hammer Michigan for the cheating (not to mention all the other stuff they did this season), then I may be done with CFB as a fan. I'll still care about ND and how the program is doing, but that's it. In sports, the spirit of the game matters. Ethics matter. Integrity matters. Without those things, what's the point? I'm just one person, so I'm aware the machine will chug along. But I just can't bring myself to care about (or spend money on) a sport in which the rules don't matter and the cheaters prosper.

Interesting thing I heard this AM. The CFP is separate from the NCAA. Even if the NCAA finds Michigan guilty and takes away their regular season wins, the CFP would have to separately take away their championship. Would that happen?
