Agreed, Indy is a nice venue but I am meh about it. It seems like ND just got a little lazy on this Shamrock Seriies venue and opponent.

i feel like this game in Indy is a kind of golden handshake to Purdue (we're dumping you but you can keep the house kind of deal).

Anybody got more info or links regarding ND and Wisconsin doing a Shamrock game at Soldier Field?

Also read a comment that maybe it's a "home & away" using Soldier Field and Lambeau?

I hope it's a one off Shamrock at Soldier Field. If they want to do a home and away then get in line after Purdue & MSU in the 2020's and lets play in Madison. I've never caught a game at Camp Randall and ND playing there is the only reason I'd go.

Ehhh. I'd really prefer not to schedule a game with Wisconsin.

Why? Stack the box, win the game.

The forward pass in amateur football hasn't crossed over the border from Illinois yet.

It's a boring offense to watch, one which all irish fans will be begging to implement after the game. Plus I don't think a win against Wisconsin will necessarily move the needle.

There's a 75% chance your vote for "most hated fan base" would change after that trip. Great place to watch a game, great game day experience, HORRIBLE fans.

I'll just wear a white golf shirt with a small ND logo and a Cubs hat, I'll be fine since 1/2 the school is suburban Chicago kids.

Badger fans were always the biggest assholes. I remember a UMD fan getting sucker punched by a Badgers fan when I was a kid.

Neutral site games are lame as fuck.

While I've come around on this thinking and somewhat agree, if any two teams could play a not home and away series, in any two stadiums... this equals the perfect storm.

Plus, ND has never lost at Soldier Field.

I'm up in the air on a Wisco neutral series at Lambau/Soldier. On one hand it's pretty much a home and home in pro stadiums, which is nice. On the other, if are going to schedule a game in Soldier, I would rather it be with a team that isn't so close to their stadium. Wisco fans will show big in both stadiums, we won't show big in Lambau.

Lucas Oil would be a better spot for "homefield advantage," but who the hell wants to go to Indianapolis for a weekend?

You sure about that? I imagine there being more Irish fans in Chicago than Indy.

There is, but I'd guess the amount of Badger fans in Indy is exponentially less than the amount in Chicago in proportion to ND in both cities, if that makes sense.

I mean. I'd definitely go to both games if I could, but I still don't like scheduling Wisconsin.

This has Barry Alvarez written all over it. Before he retires he finally scheduled game against the team where he won a National Title.

I would definitely go to the game in Green Bay

^This. As long as it's before November

Exactly, This better be a season opener and not a week 10 ice game

I'd love it. The problem is deciding whether to go to a potentially once-in-a-lifetime game at Lambeau, which would be preferable to me as a football fan, or to "settle" for Chicago, since my wife would be down for a weekend trip for that game.
