I don’t think there will be a let down. The defense shows up again. UVA has no one to match with Kmet. Then you have Chase man that’s tough. It should make for big game for one one Young or Keys.

Would love to see Kmet, Tremble, Chase and McKinley all lined up at once

Did Finke take one for the team and ask to be second string?

Dude for real. I've never been so high on a player and then so low in a matter of 3 weeks. Finke has straight up stunk this season.

Agreed.

But man does he have something over on the ND beat writers and others that cover the team. Excuses for his terrible play wherever you look.

Kelly said the captains called a meeting today. They have this under control.

From ISD

Kareem: 'The next opponents we have, best of luck to you because we’re coming'

This is reminiscent of Drew Tranquill (2 years ago after a loss?). Love it but be sure to back it up on Sat.

Especially Prister. Prister said his struggles could be because he's trying to play Michael Young's role. That could be true. But, no matter what role you're playing, you need to catch the damn ball. That first interception was not on Book. The ball was at his right ear, that is more than catchable and saying it was behind him is kinda laughable.

A 5th year senior and captain needs to rise in games like Georgia. He failed to do so. Honestly, I'd rather see Keys get more snaps.

I'm confident, but they are well coached, and it's their first trip to the Bend. They will be amped.

Keep the talk to a minimum and play the game the right way this weekend. Jump on them from the first whistle, keep the mistakes to a minimum and take care of business.

Thanks for posting the condensed game. The LT was being abused by the DE from Old Dominion. If Okwara can’t win that matchup on Saturday then he’s either injured or not a top pick like many thought of him as. I’m really excited for the weekend’s game. It’s a big game and it’s put up or shut up time for ND. I think they’ll come out strong on Saturday!

It was a loss and it was the loss against Georgia

Reading their board and their fans seems to think the Virginia defense is as good or better than UGA

Their defense is very good. They are not better than Georgia, they have 10 of 11 players that are less talented than their Georgia counterpart. That's just a fact. I expect the to play hard and keep ND in the 20s... this will be a tough game... but they are not "better than Georgia" that's just ludicrous.

S&P + Agrees.

Rating|Offense|Defense|ST

12. ND: 20.2 40.3 (14) 20.5 (35) 0.4 (4)

37. UVA: 8.9 26.5 (80) 17.6 (18) 0.0 (51)

They are good defensively but they haven't played anyone near our offensive skill yet.

Offensive rankings:
W&M: N/R
Pitt: 111 (LOL)
ODU: N/R

So, let's hold off on the UGA comparisons, Cavaliers.

I expect they'll fight hard but this is ND's game to lose, make no bones about it.

Good yeah but 4th?...

Punting? Great.

Kicking? Perfect.

Returns? We're net +7 on KOs, net +5 on Punts.

Coverage? Teams average starting on their 21, which is better than averaging a touchback per kick.

I don't think Ga is quite there yet as an "elite" team and Kirby still isn't a great in-game coach IMO.
I agree wholeheartedly on both fronts. To take nothing away from ND and what they did in Athens, UGA is not an "elite" team. There were holes there and that game was noticeably different than playing Clemson just 9 months earlier. Clemson had no holes, no weaknesses. Everything was a grind and a struggle. It was just different against UGA. Fromm has all of the tools to be the best QB in CFB but just doesn't put it all together.

My heart says there's no hangover and ND comes out ready to handle business. My head says it's ND so nothing is ever that easy.

I don't think you are giving UGA nearly enough credit for what they've done. They are loaded with talent and have given Bama just about all they could handle in the SEC since 2017. They lost to Bama in OT by 3 pts with a true freshman QB in Fromm in 2017, and in 2018 came up just short in the SEC Championship game against Bama losing by 7 again. And their recruiting has been absolutely off the charts.

2015: 6. Two 5-Stars, 12 4-Stars.
2016: 6. Three 5-Stars, 11 4-Stars
2017: 3. Three 5-Stars, 17 4-Stars
2018: 1. SEVEN 5-Stars, 15 4-Stars
2019: 2. Five 5-Stars, 15 4-Stars.

I know, I know: the stars can be irrelevant but you can't deny that that is a loaded roster with elite prospects. Say what you want about Kirby Smart as well but he has given Saban a couple of legitimate scares over the past few years.

That's awesome, hope you and your son have an amazing time. That's great you getting him there early. I was 9 when I went to my first game and that really jump started my fandom from an early age.

It's weird to me that Kelly is going out of his way to name all the RBs except Kyren Williams. Did he miss one too many blitz pickups? Did that single drop throw him in the doghouse for some reason?

I had such high hopes for him as a pass catching RB this year.

I have no idea but I was scratching my head as well. With the lack of a running game you think you'd consider all options to get something going. He seems to have the most unique skill set of the other three healthy backs.

I think we're looking at the comparison the wrong way.

Clemson wasn't just an elite team last year. They were, at the time we played them, far and away the best team in the country. Alabama was an elite team last year and got their sh*t rocked by Clemson.

Georgia can be elite and not be comparable to that Clemson team, because no team was on Clemson's level that year.

So let's think about that. If I'm correct, ND has only 2 5 star players on the entire roster. One of those is technically a backup as a senior and the other is a freshman. They went into Athens, vs the #3 team in the country with potentially 18 5 star players on their roster, and only lost by 7 and had a chance to win at the end. That's actually very impressive to me. Last year they made the CFP with only 1 5 star on the roster. We are getting 2 more, maybe 3 if Tosh gets a bump, next year. Possibly some more in 2021. Winning helps with that, for sure
