I actually thought that if he stayed with the Eagles they should have traded for Kaepernick (when people were saying he was supposedly done in San Fran) so I'm interested to see his offence with a mobile quarterback. I think it will really help being able to run some read option for him.

I'm not sure if Hyde fits the offence, he may struggle with it like Murray did but we'll see.

Hyde played for a few years under Meyer, so you think that he should be fine with it.

What do all of the Giants fans think of their coaching hire?

I like it. It seems its who the players wanted too. As far as the coaching staff is concerned, the coaches they have are pretty good in their own right, they just need better players. Really is that simple.

It is legit. From someone who follows that program very closely, it is a home run hire if true.

Damn that was fast. Fired a coach and hired a new one all in one day. Never would have guessed Lovie.

Really interesting. I really like Lovie, but I wonder if he'll have a similar experience as Turner Gill. Good football mind, but not able to control a locker room at the college level.

That is a crazy good hire. I never wanted the Bears let him go. The BIG has the coaches to start being the top conference.

I only know Lovie as a NFL coach - what kind of recruiter will he be?

I'm not super familiar with him, but as long as he's not terrible at relating to parents and the kids, his NFL experience alone should provide instant improvements on the recruiting trail compared to what Illinois was doing before.

Illinois always has decent talent. If he plays things right, I could see him getting some of that top in-state talent to stick around. It would huge for that program if he could convince just two or three of the in-state, 4-star prospects to stick around every year or two.

Tough time to recruit for ND. Michigan and OSU eat first in the Midwest, Illinois has their most attractive coach since I can remember, and Stanford is one of the best teams in the country. Gotta stay a float and hope 1-2 of these come out of picture.
