So I post here as much any anyone but apparently I never venture into the actual football threads. Why is Book starting?

Greg McElroy on the WSU vs USC broadcast just called the upset of Wake Forest over Notre Dame.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It’s noting personal towards McElroy but I listen to him on mornings on SXM ESPNU and he really doesn’t do his homework. He knows football but he doesn’t seem to do serious research.

For instance, last season he listed the UGA LB corps as their weak spot. Last night, he & Luginbill & Pasch pushed the narrative that JT Daniels should be in HS right now enjoying his SR year. That’s true, but they didn’t mention that Daniels had been held back one year (ala Jimmy Clausen) so he’s still the average age of every true freshman.

Again, I’m sure he’s a nice guy...but he’s stealing money from ESPN & SXM IMO...there’s much better analysts who are better at doing their homework.

I assume because in the last 7 games, we've averaged 20 points and haven't scored more than 24. Easiest position to change.

None of us know precisely why BK is going w/ the change but the talk has been that they have to be more consistent on offense as they have stalled w/ 3 & outs far too often. Some fans believe it’s all on BW’s inability to pass consistently. Others feel it’s a combo of inconsistent OL play (Kraemer struggles pulling or getting horizontal & Hainsey has been slow to recover from injury), bad WR play (Claypool has been dogging it; not finising routes/Finke & Boykin have drops) and RBs are inexperienced w/ Soph TJ Jr & former WR Armstrong. Often not mentioned, is the fact that ND recruits TE as well, if not better; than any program in the nation yet they have been nonexistent. Yes, Kmet is hurt but that doesn’t mean Brock Wright can’t make a bigger impact.

That’s my two cents.

Which also points to more passing &/or moving pocket as Ruhland is more agile that Kraemer. Tommy is great at blocking straight ahead & using his leverage to dominate his opponent, but when it comes to pulling or moving horizontally...he’s not good.

Assuming Ruhland is starting and Kraemer isn't close to full speed, who is next man in if there is an injury? Kraemer was the swing guy, so do we bump Bars out to tackle if there is an injury there and throw Lugg in at guard?

Let’s all hope Book’s starting debut is far more effective than his starting debut last season at UNC. If not, this will be ND’s first loss.

I mean, that’s not a good game to use.

The local NBC affiliate, WXII, is televising the game. I could not find anything that it is being streamed but have not looked very hard.

Go Irish!!

I'm watching it "up north" on ABC - Detroit... if that's an option for you.

Cheers and Go Irish!!

Changing QBs and we have our worst starting drive of the year.

I've noticed that ND is noticeably less disciplined this year and gets more penalties. At least it seems that way.
