Oh, no doubt.

I guess I just don't understand the comments of looking at our games vs NM and Lville and going, "Man, they just aren't playing well against bad teams", compared to Georgia's with glowing reviews.

Vaughn for Vandy averaged 5 yards per carry, with 3 new starters on the O-Line. Looking at the box score, it looks like starters were both teams were in until the last drive for each team.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think we'll win. But, we've played bad. That actually gives me hope. Anyway, it's my wife and I's anniversary Saturday, so I really don't need another tragedy to occur that day (Hun, if you're lurkering, I'm only kidding. Kind of.).

To me it isn't about the margin of victory against UL and NM, it was what those two teams were able to do to disrupt ND. Hard to get too worked up about NM given how they were able to counter with the sweeps and short passes. I would personally prefer fixing the running game rather than doing something else. But the results was good. I just don't think they will be able to have the same level of success against UGA, who will have the athletes on the outside.

We will see come the weekend, but I think come Sunday morning the narrative will be "how much further ND has to close the gap" versus "how ND can make a run at the playoffs".

Living it every day.... Dawg fans are simply highly confident. Most love that they are playing ND, but they also don't see us as much of a threat. Their primary goal/driver is beating Bama in the SECC more than anything else, and I've heard more talk about that than any of their pending opponents the last couple months. That'll change when Florida, Auburn, and TAMU games happen late season.

I will say, everyone that I know that traveled back to the Bend for the previous game, has been very complimentary about their experience, and perhaps have found respect for the university in general. They still however see us as the "past" and overrated when it comes to football.

In short, I think for the most part, they will be gracious hosts. I know there will be pockets of drunk rednecks doing and saying stupid stuff, but it won't be the typical SEC on SEC bad behavior. That is, unless ND wins LOL. Then all bets would be off.

1. Do you think the concentration level is the same this week as it was for UoL or NM?

So, can someone tell me why Georgia has been considered "dominant" against their competition this year, while ND hasn't?

They beat Vandy 30-6, and Fromm wasn't very good. Purdue beat them 42-24 the next week.

They trucked Murray State 63-17, who then got beat 45-0 by Toledo.

Arkansas State was probably their most impressive win 55-0.

I guess I don't get that aspect of the match-up. The idea, such as the II podcast stated, that the "cap" on our offense in this game is somehow 21 just doesn't make sense to me.

I'm not saying we're going to win, but I'd like to understand why the matchup is supposedly so one-sided.

Bingo and well said. What has Georgia done this year and last year to all of a sudden be this well rounded, more talented, better balanced, team?
We literally have no clue what will happen. None. We can beat these guys. They can beat us. It's going to be a good one!

Had a dream we were tied 29-29 with 8 minutes to go - woke up quite content even though I didn't see who won.

I think the key is our offense - if we can show a higher level of competency, any flashes of this Heisman level Book guy spreading the rock around the yard - sprinkle in more defensive wizardry wreaking havoc.... we can take UGAs best shot and still roll. Why can't this be two Top 5 teams ready to slug it out for the first game of the year with playoff implications? UGA and ND are in the same class here - I expect a good game. Doesn't hurt that UGA has a history of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in these types of situations. Karma states we win with a strip-sack late.

Yes, but fury takes only so far than skill will kick in. Hard to say how long fury will last. A lot depends on how the game starts, but if they can open a few holes early it could be there for the entire game.

That’s funny b/c I heard a caller from Cali yesterday by the name of Dr. Bulldog spew similar trash. Kudos to Mark Packer for calling him out about their pathetic Sugar Bowl performance. It’s like the caller had a script he was going by w/ the tone of a WWE wrestler getting the crowd going. Packer called him out & this idiot had to admit UGA’s failing in that game regardless of whether they wanted to be there or not. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the same guy.

If Georgia wants to get back to the playoff they should look into how they can get past Alabama rather than blaming other teams or conferences. They have only themselves to blame.

I agree. If a scout rated the RBs for both teams, the top 5 would be all UGA. #6 would be ND but that RB is injured. I’m hoping Smith is healthy enough to play b/c I like his chances of running physical vs that of TJJ.

I’ll take your dream. I want ND to win...it would make our two decades. But, if ND can’t win yet compete for four quarters w/ a respectable score, that’s my second choice.

Regardless of UGA’s choking against Bama (let’s face it, that’s the game that gives them the shits), Smart has recorded some big time wins in a short period of time as it relates to previous UGA coaches as well as ND.

I think the UGA DBs are much faster, bigger, and more physical than the teams we typically play. LeCounte (S) is a 5 star guy and a stud, JR Reid is big and a tackling machine, Web (Nickel) is a beast and leads the team in tackles. Stokes (CB) is a stud. Daniels, the other CB is probably the weakest link. Add in their DL is no joke vs what many consider to be a struggling ND OL.....

In short, I think Claypool will have some success. Kmet might as well but honestly he's still an unknown to me. Only 15 catches last year (one vs Clemson) gives me a bit of pause. McKinley is simply to slow IMO and will not do well vs the UGA DBs. He might make a nice contested grab, but I don't see him YACing out vs UGA.

I'd have a much more optimistic outlook if we were injecting the young speed in good doses to the passing game plan and making it easier on Book with quick passes and more separation. Not sure BK is capable of that (playing the youth). I think the passing numbers will be similar to last year's Clemson game.

I've been to Athens a bunch of times. It's really not that bad at all. It can get bad vs certain SEC teams, but overall I would not worry at all if I was an Irish fan travelling. I was there when UGA lost to TN a couple years ago. total last second hail marry upset. I took both TN fans and several UGA fans that were employees. We partied with the Dawgs after and it was all good. Sure there were a few groups that were turds, but frankly I've seen high school games that were as bad back in Indy.
