I figured with the situational game experience Bell had and more years under his belt he'd beat out the younger guy. He'll certainly be used to goal line situations again though, so we have that to look forward to. If we can keep their freshman from reaching the red zone though, we could prevent that scenario.

I read an article yesterday that said Knight ran the 40 at 4.5 seconds. It also talked about how he was scout team QB last year and was giving OU's first team defense fits. I'll try finding it in a bit. I can't wait for this game!

Ewww...gonna be like Denard Robinson all over again there maybe, but possibly a better passer.

Hello... I'm making the trip to South Bend in a few weeks with 5 buddies from college and beyond. 3 Sooners, a Georgia fan, a Texas fan, and an Irish fan we felt obligated to let tag along.

Looking forward to the trip. Taking an RV and driving from Dallas. Staying at a campground in Niles, Michigan. We have our tickets and plan to tailgate on Saturday. Unfortunately don't have much planned beyond that.

Any tips or general info is much appreciated!

Go early, I'm sure there will be something going on in the Joyce (where the basketball stadium is), check out the Grotto, TD Jesus, the Golden Dome. Also in the Joyce by the monogram club there is a spot where they have all the ND Championship rings, 3 championship trophies, a Lombardi trophy, and a Heisman trophy.

Pffft, those all sounds like great fans, but who let the Georgia guy in? I'm just kidding. I do like Texas and OU fans though, almost always been classy aside from the occasional trolls that show up here. Great people in person.

blueNDgold44 is pretty spot on. Personally, I always like listening to the band warm up, listening to the Trumpets Under the Dome (About an hour and a half before kickoff in the Golden Dome, it fills up fast), and watching the band march into the stadium right after. I'm not sure if you guys will enjoy all that, but theres a lot to see at that end of campus and it's worth checking out the Basilica, Grotto, and Dome anyway if you're in the vicinity. A lot of people will be at that end of campus just before kickoff, they line the sidewalk in hundreds for the band about an hour before the game begins.

Appreciate the responses so far. I did see that sticky in one of the forums for visitors and first-timers for Gameday. I know we'll do a tour here and there and possibly just enjoy being there. Since we'll only have the RV, I don't know how mobile we will be.

We plan to park at that lot that looks to be about a mile north of the stadium. That's what ND's website directs us to when we search for RV parking. Does anyone have any info on that? It's $125 to park there, but you can't reserve a spot. First come-first served. I guess we'll be lining up at 3am to get a spot.

Does anyone think Game Day will be there? Not a huge "must have" to me personally, been to several, but I do think it provides a fun experience to be on that campus that day.

Blake Bell to start for Oklahoma against Tulsa - CBSSports.com

By Tom Fornelli

Knight has bruised knee.

While Knight hasn't exactly been impressive (he's completing 44 percent of his passes for 205 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions) it's not as if Bell has been much better in his limited opportunities. Bell has completed only three of the six passes he's thrown and rushed for 31 yards on seven attempts.

I'm still worried about this one... an up tempo team with some speed... obviously that can give our boys problems...

Y'all see what Blake Bell did today? MSU and Oklahoma suddenly look like they have quarterbacks.

I'm surprised Bell wasn't the starter to begin with. He had game experience, he obviously is a threat to pickup yards when running the ball. I assumed his passing wasn't on par with Landry Jones, but I expected him to run a play action well enough. This will be a tough team. USC and Michigan State just got a little better this week too.

Unless ND DB's learn that to cover somebody means to stop them from catching a pass and not let them catch a pass & tackle afterwards it will be a long night. The Sooners have 2 weeks to prepare for ND & right now ND doesn't look to tuff to scheme around offensively or defensively.

One of our problems is we can't cover in man coverage. And we are bring pressure due to the lack of rush our front 4 get.

Oh and guess what they have a running QB....

Agreed and Blake Bell can run but he's nowhere close to as good a runner as Devin Gardner @ running the ball. Blake is a better passer in my opinion based on his single performance & OU has more offensive weapons then Michigan with Shepard @ wr & Finch who saw more action this week then previous. We have to get better over the next 2 weeks. We have the players the coaches need to pull there heads out & put it together.

You could quite possibly be the most negative poster on this board. It's kind of annoying.

Who has been the scout team QB the past couple weeks? Could be effecting preparation in terms of the D.

I'm looking forward to this game more as the season has gone on with the way OU's been playing.

The defense has been playing much better than years past (granted competition hasn't been world beaters). Bell at QB against Tulsa was outstanding, however they loaded up to stop the run leaving some easy pitch and catch opportunities with receivers who just overmatched their secondary.

I'm hoping the Irish take care of Sparty in dominating fashion so we have a top 15 matchup in South Bend.

We were hoping for a display of dominance against Temple and Purdue as well, but it wasn't forthcoming. Not likely to show up against MSU's stingy defense. Most of us are just hoping for a win (of any kind) against Sparty now; and I'm trying not to think about OU.

Glad your Sooners are looking good again.
