My grandfather's team will be recognized at this game, he was on the team in '57 that broke OU's record winning streak. Hopefully I'll be able to go!

I wanna see him try and quickly escape the pocket when it collapses on him...cant wait to see him play agains our defense
Bell worries me more than Landry did, but only because he's a guy that can run with the ball and he's hard to bring down. We don't face many QB's that can run with the ball each season. Denard was one, and while he was more speedy and shifty than Bell, I think Bell will be the better passer (Not easy to be worse in that category). With Denard you could try and take away the run and dare him to throw. If Bell is even an average thrower he'll keep our defense honest if they run him like they have in the past.
Bell has to make it to South Bend. At 260+, with a propensity to put his shoulder down, he isn't doing the things that it takes to promote a good throwing motion. We will see how that works for him, but I think the part about the Bell-Denard comparison that makes sense is the, "How much punishment can one body take?" And pound for pound, I think Denard turned out to be one of the toughest, strongest guys ND ever faced, even though he and Michigan suck.
Good point. The OU game is pretty early in the year, and they play Tulsa the week before us, so I could see Stoops resting Bell going into the game. On the flip side we've got Michigan, Purdue, then MSU which will all probably be matches with a lot of slugging. Always kind of sucked that we got Denard so early in the season. By the OSU game he was already pretty well banged up or not able to play QB as a result.
We banged him up. Stephon de-laced him, and the early fourth quarter hit by Manti changed Denard's outlook.
Rumor is Trevor Knight will be the starting QB. Nothing confirmed by the big media outlets yet
Bob Stoops announced freshman Trevor Knight has won Oklahoma's starting QB job. Knight beats out Blake Bell.
“@NDatRivals: Oklahoma named red-shirt freshman Trevor Knight today as its starting quarterback. Knight's first road start will be in South Bend.”
Feel like hes in for a rude awakening. The defense should have a fun night
Sometimes, being young and unaware can be a blessing.
See Tate Forcier as a frosh, or Johnny Autograph against the Tide...
