I'd feel comfortable in either situation.Three minutes to go, ball is on the 30 yard line. Need 70 yards and a TD to win.
Would you rather:
Be ahead and have to play defense knowing our D is sketchy or be behind and have to score with our potent offense?
Pretty sure one of their DT is a freshman. That paired with our fairly solid line should make for a good run day up the middle too.I think we come out in a shotgun, 4 wide. The strength of their Defense is their LBs, and best to get them in space and make them run with WRs. No idea if it'll work, but I like the plan.
As for MSU, so much has been made of their press coverage, it's over advertised. I wouldn't be surprised with them come out in a zone to throw us off, then revert to their press once we adjust.
I don't think asking your defense to actually defend for 1 minute is out of the question. Most coaches take those points as they come with the expectation, you have a competent D to make the stand.
Ha idk, we asked our defense to defend for LESS than a minute against Stanford last year, and we still got scrooged.
I realize that, I quoted a post that referenced that end of game scenario. My point was, I don't want my HC or OC, coaching the team the only score once we've milked clock or only try and score once the clock is under X. My expectation is and always should be, that you score when those points are available and if you don't have a defense that can hold a team to no points inside one minute. Then you need a new DC and/or different players.
Essentially you take the points as they come. Instead of trying to dictate when those points will be scored. Which is what the previous post was insinuating.
Weekly press conference?
Those are on Tuesdays
thought he did after practice on thursday. prolly wont be for another two hours.

We said the same kind of stuff about Texas too
This. Their defense dropped off a bit last year and lost almost all of their big players this year. It could actually be a beat down.Texas is (was?) a sleeping giant. MSU can't pull the same kind of athletes out of nowhere. They rely on mid-grade players and great coaching, which is usually a strength. But BK has Dantonio's number. I'm pretty confident here.

And his backup is another BulloughThey also have another Bullough at LB again this year. That family all goes to State and has never had to pay tuition.
Mom is an ND grad as well. Pretty sure she'll wear green and white Saturday
How many kids does this damn family have?
I have never seen that before....freaking AWESOME!
Man could Jimmy sling it at ND. Its a shame we could never put any sort of defense together while he was here.
Would love to see Kiser air out MSU this weekend.
