You can make an argument, but I don't know how sound it is. Can you point to a specific place where Zaire killed our momentum? Because we scored 17 straight points after his worst drive(the first possession of the 2nd half). If you want to blame something for killing our momentum, how about blaming this:

Kizer looked amazing and seems like he should be the guy going forward, but that was a very short sample size for Zaire and the playcalling didn't help him out. I bet he plays close to half the snaps against Nevada. I wouldn't be shocked to see him in there against MSU if their D is stopping us early.

Let's face it. Kelly thinks he owes Zaire playing time, because after the injury he said to Zaire and family that the starting job was his when he came back.

I don't need it spelled out for me. I know what you meant......... you meant that Kelly cost us the game by playing Zaire more than YOU think he should have. And that might be true. This is where I am at as well. A lot of people on here kept talking about how Malik was a better leader. For those on the sidelines, Malik was an ass most of the game. While I can understand him being frustrated with DeShone getting all the reps the second half. A good leader would not have done what he did. He isolated himself and had a constant pissed off look on his face and didn't talk to anyone. A good leader would be encouraging his teammates and engaged in the game.

My biggest issue is because of the score, not just Zaire. We went down 16 points to start the 2nd half, only 1 QB showed he could do anything on the field at that point. I understand Zaire only had limited exposure in the 1st half. But at that point the W should be more important than an experiment to see who was the better QB. He failed the team with that decision.

Disagree. An average throw to the sideline on that corner route is six. There's no way the safety comes out of his back pedal to cover that much space.

NO WAY the safety is getting there. They were completely out of position to cover ESB's route from the start of the play when the outside CB jumped the TE and #25 showed blitz and allowed ESB to go by him unjammed.

That's six.

Should have been 6 to Hunter if not for a great reaction by the safety to get there.

If only DK would have gone to ESB on that play. The safety had no chance to get to ESB on the corner route and the CB was beat when he was slow to pick up ESB after showing blitz.

It was an easy 6.

Killed momentum is incorrect. Kizer scored TD's on two of the 3 possessions following MZ's series. He had momentum until What are we to blame for the other 3 punts on Kizer drives? Did Kelly's play calling kill Kizer's momentum? Did BVG's defense kill Kizer's momentum? DK actually only scored 2 TD's out of six possessions where he had sequential series. So he had problems with momentum on his own more so than following MZ.

If you want to say MZ ate three possessions where DK could have scored a TD? That's fine because it's a fact. What isn't a fact is that DK would have scored a TD on any of those series. He could have gone 0-3 on those series, he could have gone 3-3 on those series, he could have suffered a season ending injury on the 3rd down when Bars and McG let both DE's get to MZ before he could blink.
