lol...

too funny.

I don't care if your teams are regional or whatever, I mean, look at my teams... my thing is, if you aren't a die hard/life long or don't know the sport all that well at least shut up and let the real fans do the talking... and def don't talk smack.

Everyone in my social circle knows I'm an ND fan. Few if any are FBS fans. Being on the receiving end of smack from someone who doesn't have a team is one of the most frustrating things I've come across.

Kind of on the note of not really being a fan of anyone but talkgin smack:

My high school best friend and I went to college together and thus have all the same college buddies, we aren't nearly as close now but still see each other all the time through mutual friends... this guy is the worst kind of sports fan... He was a 'life long Laker fan", now he's a LeBron follower/current Cavs fan... He's a Pats fan, Red Sox fan (though openly courting the Dodgers just in case they win it this year), was a Trojan fan years ago, now a combo tOSU/Bama fan... and before any of them started winning he wasn't remotely interested in any of them... not a single one...

that's fine, whatever... what makes it so bad is he talks massive shit to anyone about their teams and he calls other people out for being 'band wagoners' all the time... fun stuff.

Living in Kentucky, I know this feeling.

UK fans are the worst. They'll give me hell every time ND loses, and are also the first ones to trumpet "GO SEC!!!!"

When I ask them how UK football is doing, and remind them that they play 0% part in the SEC's success, they fall back on the "We're just waiting on basketball" thing.

Totally. With all the time they had with the injury timeout you think they would've at least looked at it. Ridiculous. I'm sorry, but it might've changed the outcome. I've seen much less called targeting (Tuitt).

might have?... I have zero doubt in my mind that if that is called correctly ND takes total control of the game and wins in regulation.

and yeah, even during the game I was furious thinking back to the Tuitt play... the hit on Hunter was a text book targeting, not two helmets accidentally hitting during a normal tackle.

This is where I'm at. More so than any other time with ND, and any other team I root for. And I was at the Big House when Forcier threw a TD to end it in 09.

I was also there. We had plans to spend the night outside of Ann Arbor but I was so mad and so sick we just drove home. absolutely terrible.

My biggest issue with the Texas loss is that I just feel like BVG and others didn't put the defense in a position to succeed. No pressure via blitzes no safety help just a laundry list of problems.

instead of being in the top ten we are possible in a position again where our best 'win' is a loss to a good team, which means no playoffs. Hopefully Kelly can keep them motivated because they are on the outside looking in...after week one....

I see over 200 posts for the Nevada game and wonder how is this game generating so much chatter? Then I see it's just basically rehashing the UT game! lol

Since we're still talking UT, something that killed us in that game was our punting. It was terrible and didn't help us one bit when it came to flipping the field.

I'm okay with bad punting, provided the coaching staff considers that before electing to give the ball away on fourth and 1 from midfield.

If only DK would have gone to ESB on that play. The safety had no chance to get to ESB on the corner route and the CB was beat when he was slow to pick up ESB after showing blitz.

It was an easy 6.

I'm not. If we get a decent punt, Texas should be starting that last drive from around the 10-15 yard line. A 15yd run doesn't hurt you nearly as bad as one starting at the 35. We had several punts during the game that hurt us. No free pass on the punter IMO.

Also, Kelly taking 3 quarters to figure out which was the better QB, when it was obviously clear.

That didn't help.

I have a blow hard UT brother in law, he totally jumped on their bandwagon during the Vince Young stuff and has been all in since, worst part is he apparently grew up an Irish fan... smh... Guy is also a Broncos fan which makes it worse but he's one of those who doesn't know jack about football, never played, coached, anything.. doesn't know a cover 2 from an album cover but assumes bc his teams win that he knows football in and out... he's hard to be around as it is... Thanksgiving will not be fun this year, I'm honestly preparing myself now so I can hold back cold cocking him.

Sister's husband or wife's brother?

These people are the worst.

Right up there with people that don't return their shopping carts to the cart barn, and people who drive slow in the left lane.

Yeah bandwagon-jumpers are the worst. If you're not an alum you should GTFO.

Just punch him in the temple and be done with it. Do it in the garage, though. Don't take a chance on knocking any food off of the table and wasting it. A Texas bandwagon jackwagon isn't worth it.

Even I can see the safety sitting on ESB and breaking to Tori as the ball comes out - no way man.

Disagree. An average throw to the sideline on that corner route is six. There's no way the safety comes out of his back pedal to cover that much space.

Put us down 31-14. We probably aren't in that hole if Kizer is in the whole game.

Becoming an obvious criticism - at the same point doesn't he deserve some credit for having Kizer prepped to be as good as he is? And the other 10 guys on offense ready to execute as well? Are you insinuating that was such a critical error we should go back to shopping for a coach?

I want to see Kizer put up video game numbers on Nevada and Kelly to prime that pump. Then let Zaire come in and run for 100 yards in the 4th quarter. Iron some stuff out and get ready for MSU by getting our starters off the field halfway through the third quarter.

No.

But you can make a sound argument that pulling him after having extremely effective drives was detrimental to our game flow. Zaire was just plain ineffective and his short drives killed momentum

And your second strategy is actually great. Use Zaire as a closer who can run down the clock. Or a change of pace goalline QB. like UT did with Swoopes.

But Zaire has no business on the field other than that. Not because he's a terrible QB, but because Kizer is better and proved it.

Honestly, rotating in the 1st half didn't bug me at all. That was the game plan going in. See who rises and who doesn't. Before half I thought it was obvious. But definitely after half. Then we go down a few scores to start the 2nd and you trot out a guy that's had no success all day and leave benched a QB that's just killing it.

Zaire only got one possession in the 2nd half right? He only got two in the first half (3 and out and that drive that stalled past midfield), so I didn't have much of an issue with it personally.

Kizer looked amazing and seems like he should be the guy going forward, but that was a very short sample size for Zaire and the playcalling didn't help him out. I bet he plays close to half the snaps against Nevada. I wouldn't be shocked to see him in there against MSU if their D is stopping us early.

I don't see any "Reno", or "UNR" on this list.......... but if you look at #89, you will find "Nevada"....

Passing Offense | FBS Football Statistics - NCAA.com

It's the "official" name. Similar to Texas. Texas is formally known as University of Texas at Austin but people mostly know it as simply University of Texas.

The University of Nevada, Reno (also referred to as Nevada, the University of Nevada, or UNR) is a public research university located in Reno, Nevada.
