With the Pac 12's strength, you want to see SEC teams come out of their comfort zones and prove themselves. Kansas State should have beaten Auburn. Oklahoma dominated Tennessee (34-10), who almost beat Georgia last week.
SEC teams who have not played - and will not play - any power 5 teams this year (4 teams):
Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt.
SEC teams, who play one Power 5 team a year, a regional/traditional rival (3 teams):
Florida (Florida State), South Carolina (Clemson), Kentucky (Louisville)
These seven SEC teams -
Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Mississippi St, Florida, South Carolina, Kentucky and Vanderbilt - are chronic offenders. That's half the conference that either never plays a Power 5 or only one traditional rival.
Will these SEC trends for playing Power 5 conferences continue? The short answer is yes.
The exceptions are:
Georgia, who adds Notre Dame to their Georgia Tech game in 2017, and
Texas A&M, who adds one Power 5 conference game year with some strong Pac 12 opponents - Arizona State (2015), UCLA (2016, 2017) and Oregon (2018, 2019).
Florida (Fla St), Kentucky (Louisville), South Carolina (Clemson) will continue playing only their Power Conference rivals.
Vanderbilt, Ole Miss do not have any Power 5 conference teams on their future schedules.
As for the other SEC teams who may play only one P5 team per year:
Missouri - next P5 team scheduled - Purdue in 2017
Mississippi State - will not play a P5 team until 2018 (Kansas State)
Auburn - take a year off in 2015 from playing any Power 5 team, resuming in 2016 (Clemson)
Arkansas - also takes 2015 off, resuming with TCU in 2016
Alabama, LSU, and Tennessee have one P5 team scheduled annually for the near future.

With that type of scheduling, you can hide amongst the brand name without having to prove yourself. The Pac 12 is stronger this year and plays a stronger non-conference schedule against Power 5 teams. The SEC teams, who schedule Pac 12 teams, break the mold, as only Alabama (USC) and Texas A&M (see above) have done.
The attitude seems to be that they do not have to change and it could only hurt their image as "the best conference". Prove It!
