She says she's the victim of a deliberate and coordinated cyberattack that spread disinformation and categorically false information...but she never spells out what was disinformation or false. Makes you wonder if at least some of it's true and they're being vague to protect themselves. Her defense seems centered on herself as well, there's no mention of her boyfriend or his father being a victim in this if the affair wasn't true...just saying.

In typical Louisiana political fashion, this is another stupid proposal. I want LSU to do well as much as the next Tiger fan, but 18-22 year olds who play sports (while receiving a plethora of other perks and benefits) shouldn’t get a tax break. This NIL (i.e., “pay-for-play”) shit is getting out of hand…

It’s feeling more like people are intent on diminishing college sports, especially football. The NFL would be wise to try to push for some kind of sensible regulation aimed at reducing constant transferring. That will solve a lot of the problems.

Agree……average citizens have to pay income tax but not the college athletes? Silly……

Ya'll are racing to the bottom for sure. Hard to see that as a good move. There have to be tons of loopholes that could be written into tax law for NIL purposes but no taxes is a wild thought. It's a small number of affected people but it's hard not to be a little incensed by the idea.

Having college tuition + stipend + NIL proceeds + room/board covered for 4+ years due to an exceptional athletic profile and all the ancillary perks that come with that = a helluva a starting combo. Removing taxes from the equation, I could argue, is preparing them for a monstrous shock to the system when they emerge from that money funhouse.

To my understanding Florida, Texas, and Tennessee have no state income tax generally. So .... footballers could view those SEC rivals as having an "unfair" recruiting advantage. And so ... rather than paying more to make up the difference ---> this concept. I'd think that Georgia would be next, as that state is sort-of like Louisiana in having only one SEC giant to benefit.

At this point what do you even do as punishment.
i remember reading before that basically UGA athletics feels they are being unfairly victimized by Athens PD so probably nothing. They don't even accept they have a problem and if they do its probably that they think its "because NIL is making our players act like shitstains and its not our fault"

OK, you have a player or two do something stupid every year. Maybe you even have most of them doing the same thing, like speeding and reckless driving. But UGA has raised this to a culture, a way of life. They've gotten a girl killed from this and had a LOT of players arrested for the same stupid thing... and who knows how many incidents have been kept quiet with no arrest. I'm a little surprised and disappointed that Kirby hasn't clamped down a lot harder on this.

You would think there would be a bit more static on how Kirby Smart runs the UGA program…….especially when you factor in their 8 year GSR of 41%, that‘s abysmal.

I expected a LOT better from Kirby. Saban was his mentor and he spent years coaching under him. Saban ran a very disciplined, tight ship. Not that there weren't occasional issues, but not many, and Saban was VERY effective at nipping that stuff in the bud and changing behavior. I really expected Kirby to handle this sort of stuff a lot more like Saban and just do a better job. Looks like discipline is lax to say the least at UGA. This particular issue has been going on for a few years now.

Nah, I lived in Georgia for 8 years, zero chance that happens unless Kirby does something really bad like consistently not win 10 games. He gave them their first title in 40 years in back to back fashion. Plus, he's an alum. Unless he starts losing, his job will never be in jeopardy.
