Was he not likable after he stepped out from Saban's former HC rehabilitation program? Seemed like Joey Freshwater got a sense of humor after that and wasn't so douchey.
He was likable, yes. The FAU and Ole Miss versions have been way better than who and what he was before.

I don't know how likable he is to those closer to him, but far away is close enough for the rest of us. Has a good presser and social media game that's often times funny. That works.

I can't believe he's 50 years of age. Feels like he's been around forever. Got in at SC as the TE coach in 2001 and the rest is history.

I am looking to hire a salesman and had an interview today. The guy was a pretty good candidate until he started talking about college football and how the only real football is played in the south.

I asked him who his team is - Georgia - so I then asked him if it is legal to sub out the entire punt team and bring in the offense. He says ND cheated.

Next candidate please!

Funny considering how they beat Georgia Tech last year!

Talk about ruining your chances, opening your mouth and sticking your foot in it. I would have been done here, even before the punt question

My favorite part was Brian Kelly pretending he has a mortgage lmao
Anyway the important thing is that it's all about him, how his life is at stake here, how crazy it is that he has put himself in a position where these kids can blow it for him. Just a world historical douche. And spare me "it's one line out of context/edited/whatever". Imagine MF saying that, or Saban, or even (fuck me) Harbaugh.

My buddy and I have a flight voucher to use. We were thinking we'd catch a SEC game this fall. We were thinking Tennessee, Alabama, or LSU. Anyone have opinions/feedback that might help?

Right now we are leaning Tennessee hosting Georgia. Tickets are not bad at all (compared to the $500/ticket I paid yesterday for nd/usc)

We aren't set on anything, so if there are any hidden gems of college football please let me know. Doubt we'll ever have another random excuse to go catch a game at one of these places.

Seeing a home game for any of those three will likely be a great experience, but in very different ways. All three have large LOUD stadiums. LSU games, especially night games where the fans have had all day to "get in the spirit" can be wild and a little dangerous. Their fans have been known to trash visitors' cars, throw urine on opposing fans, and be vulgar in a drunk Marine sort of way. Still, a once in a lifetime experience and good food all around you. Tennessee fans are generally OK - just a bit convinced their program is elite when it hasn't actually been since Peyton Manning was there 60 or 70 years ago (or close to that). Be prepared to hear Rocky Top every 5 minutes all day. Bama has the nicest of the three stadiums, though the others are good. The fans are polite and friendly, but you'll hear Roll Tide a million times and the fans will be appalled that we're not ranked #1 and still can't believe Saban retired. Good BBQ all over town and if you like the bar scene, The Strip just off the west side of campus is legendary. You'll have fun at all three places.

Ahh the old “piss balloons” myth. 🙄 Yeah, and Alabama fans are known to openly sodomize their relatives at tailgates and subsequently beat their spouses while yelling, “Rahr Tahd!”

And as far as stadiums, “Tiger Stadium, there is no substitute.” 😉 If you catch it on the right occasion and right opponent, there is no better environment in all of sports. Go listen to SVP routinely wax poetic over it.

Depending on who they play, of course, you can’t go wrong with any of those 3. For example, I wouldn’t go see LSU play Louisiana Tech or Alabama play Eastern Illinois.

Tennessee vs Georgia would be a good one. It’s early in the year, and if Tennessee can get by Syracuse, both are likely to be undefeated. It’ll be still hot, but Knoxville is a good trip with the Vol Navy, Market Square, etc. They’ve got an ugly campus (it kind of blends in with their “downtown” and is hard to distinguish between what’s on campus and what’s not), but it’s a good place to catch a game.

The Mrs. and I went to the ND Tenn game back in '99 at Neyland stadium. Great atmosphere and tailgating. Vol fans were very friendly and offered up their beverages of choice. Probably our best experience of the road games we've been to.

I’d go to whichever is the best matchup. Been to a couple games in Tuscaloosa (Miss State and an FCS opponent). Atmosphere was kinda boring as they drilled them both (peak Saban years). I’m sure it’s much better for marquee games.

Personally, I’d love to go to a night game at LSU.

I’ve been to games at all three places and I’d vote for UT as the best overall experience. I think Knoxville has more to offer as a city than either Baton Rouge or Tuscaloosa. I was surprised at how steep Neyland Stadium felt when up in the stands.

I'd go to Tennessee. Go to Calhouns On the River (or get a burger at Copper Cellar on the strip), get drunk and then go to the game. By the time you make it to the Stadium you'll understand why hills suck and be only buzzed. Neyland is very impressive in person. Tennessee fans are annoying as hell but you'll probably watch them get smoked.
