I can say with 100% certainty that if they were eligible for the draft this year they would not be top 2 round picks. Future projections of what they might develop into in a couple years are completely irrelevant to the quality of player being played this weekend.

What you're doing is the equivalent of talking about the weaknesses of an underclassmen Te'o (he was bad) for an upcoming game that year and you being like "how can you say he won't be..." It does not matter at all for this weekend what someone might become.

Technically by your logic isn't last week irrelevant?

KVR had his hearing tonight.

Do they wait until all five have had theirs before announcing any results? Do decisions even come out of a hearing?

This is basically what I'd like to know. Is there a decision or punishment given at the end of the hearings? Are they just for the player to give his side and a decision is given at a later date? Is the player even actively involved in the hearing, or just there?

Doesn't mean they render a decision the same day?

As much as I'd like to see the resolution come quickly, I would get a little nervous about a decision being handed down that quickly. Considering the length of the investigation, I assume there is a fair amount of evidence that was presented. The kids have waited this long; I'd hope that the committee gives thoughtful enough consideration to the situation to render a fair decision even if it takes an extra day or two. Some juries deliberate after a trial for weeks. I don't know how they could decide these cases in a couple of hours.

Also, does anyone have any idea about what is actually accomplished at the hearing?

If the accused are giving "testimony" and presenting "evidence" then a decision may not come for anyone until everyone has had a hearing. That is, Russell's statements could have bearing on Daniels and vice versa.

Any guess why they did KVR first? Easy one first? Start out good...move to the bad?

Don't you think over the past 2 months, or at least past 2 weeks they've had enough time to come up with likely punishments?

I imagine they have a good idea of what they're going to decide going in, or at least a small range, and they just want to hear out the student and let him plead his case to verify and/or improve upon it.

Well, yeah, that was exactly what I am saying/worried about. I hope they haven't decided anything yet. That would be very bad in my opinion. That is basically the opposite of a fair hearing if the decision has been made before it starts.

I guess I see it as the opposite. I'd hope since the investigation ended over a month ago, they go in with a great idea punishments/no punishment and the hearings are to listen to the players and confirm what they expected.

Remember, there is also an appeals process. I wouldn't hold your breath on any formal announcements.

I find It enormously funny. I decided to read through 1/3 of what I hadn't... Is it possible that these guys should maybe redshirt this year? We couldn't live without them, then we could, now we want. A 1Good read
