Bk's comments sure made it sound like there was a lot of evidence against the players. Something to the effect of the issue being straightforward and once the issue was confirmed Jack let him know.

That's what I can't figure out. Sometimes it sounds like there was a big investigation with all kinds of evidence-gathering before this story first broke, but then we're told that there's an investigation going on right now.

He said that because he needs the rest of the team to mentally move on without them. You don't want it to hang around the locker room because it will be a distraction. BK is very good at PR and don't forget his 'political' background. He knows how to 'play the game'.

EDIT: I'll also add that Irish Illustrated said the four of them are still on the listed roster. Plus, according to Tom Loy's Bolt update: "Kelly said he has received “zero” update on their respective statuses this week. However, he stated that he is confident that the players are working out, staying in shape, and would be ready to go if they are cleared in time."

If this is the first year, my ever-optimist theory is that he's doing this so that KVR can be a captain down the road.

I would discourage you from making that inference. IIRC, we had game-day captains in 2010.

One other thing, especially in light of the early rumors with "3 out of 4 being cleared." Isn't Kendall Moore in a different position than the others? Isn't he a 5th year senior, therefore a graduate student? Wouldn't the whole set of criterion applied to him be an actual different standard, or level than for the others?

I had a similar thought. If Russell comes out unscathed he can still get the honor he would have had.

I'll PM you more details. I don't know his specific relationship with the U except obviously, he's alum and, I'm the first to be extremely wary and unbelieving of rumors but his guy seems really legit.

I don't feel good about the situation but I hope you are right and my feelings are shit.

Thanks for passing along. Any idea which players we're talking about here? It seems like most of the rumors based on inside sources say two or three players will be cleared, but very few include the names. I would think if someone is inside enough to know numbers, that person has an idea as to names too.
