A retraction would only be appropriate if they ran a story that is inaccurate. Have they done that? As far as I've seen they've reported that 4 players are under investigation for academic fraud. That is and will remain accurate even if they are all cleared

Teport that i saw said that ND has proof that the 4 players commited academic violations.

I could not agree more

Seriously though: "Chiro I hope your source is solid. Im not going to believe this until I see it for real. I cant take anymore heartbreak. Please do not take offense, I will praise you and it sounds like I should be praising your wife from Rockets posts."

They even creep on us lol: "Some guy on twitter said "two players have already been reinstated and will return Monday." I believe people over on IE said he was some type of artist for ND or something. Not sure on his credentials, so TIFWIW."

Just wondering but if all four or even one is cleared what's the possibility that one of the implicated could sue the university for slander? Granted the university said it was just an investigation and the players haven't been dismissed or anything but by acknowledging the players involved and how everyone except for ND fans already see them as guilty i could see where someone could say it hurt their draft stock because of possible character issues. I doubt any of these guys would but people sue for everything now days.

No case against the university... they never said they were guilty of anything. Now the big box media has been closer saying that 1. Players were dismissed and 2. Releasing the names. I hope 'deepthroat" at the NCAA who leaked this stuff gets the career death penalty. What a community college hack.

One could argue that it's not IF they committed "Academic Dishonesty" but how BAD they committed it.

As Ft. Jenkins pointed out, it could simply mean an "F" on the paper. They've had a couple weeks to piece enough information together. Maybe this suspension IS their punishment. All of this noise is easier for ND to control then 4 separate suspensions.

This was my understanding. Something happened, it only remains to be seen how bad. I thought ND does have proof of academic violations.

I could be very wrong. I've been moving all weekend and haven't been able to read as much as I would like to.

That's what I figured just wasn't sure since it seems people can and will sue for everything these days.

Very important distinction Grahambo... What if that F on the paper were to change the players semester grade one or two letters and that dropped his GPA below the eligibility line?. Then what if that player was on probation already.... dominoes start to fall as they could have been ineligible the following semester.

I've never been a member of another site, but reading that page, isn't it funny how much they sound like us?

Funny, pessimistic, Irish fans. We're all one in the same.

I used to read DD a lot when I first joined here in 2006. I think I'm a member and have posted like ~50 times but not in last few years. Lot of weird folks over there haha. They all seem to mean well though.

Let's hope this Chiro poster (I know he's well liked over there) has some good info.

They're a hell of a lot more optimistic over there.

If DD and KVR are cleared I would hope Irish Turning Point kept the original video before all this. Only way I would see the delay because of yesterday

Does anyone know if we vacated wins from the whole Kim Dunbar thing? We didn't, right?

Mel Kiper just said were looking at 6 wins this year. He's a ND fan and said that before his prediction.

I hope he's wrong. But if one of those 6 is Michigan, it'll make it a little easier.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-partner="tweetdeck"><p>BK: As players you don't replace KeiVarae Russell. One of the best CB's at ND in some time</p>— Irish Sports Daily (@ISDUpdate) <a href="https://twitter.com/ISDUpdate/statuses/500687653139124224">August 16, 2014</a></blockquote>
<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

He's the one I think is irreplaceable.

According to Bruce Feldman ND only has 3 academic aids, while most other programs have 12. Just saying...interpret that anyway you like

Only 3 women for the whole team to share. That's a lot of 'work' for 3 women.

He doesn't sound like a douche at all to me! He definitely knows more than we do and is sticking up for his kid.

This wan't his first text 'protecting' his son. This is a habitual thing, and not good.

IDK if its been posted cause I dont feel like reading a 1200 post thread but here it gores:

Ok my source is a stretch but its legit, My brother has a friend, whose brother went to ND and is friends with Tommy Rees. (Legit not making that up).

Apparent Davaris Daniels emailed some chick to do his paper. I guess the same chick thats been helping him out before. She emailed him the paper. Davaris then forwarded the link along with every single previous email detailing the cheating and shit to his teacher.

IDK if the same girl has been helping out the other players, but Davaris and I guess the girl were told to give up all the other information about the other players or theyd be expelled. Don't know why Davaris complied cause looks like he is done regardless.

Thats what I heard, all I know. Sounds legit to me and have no further info so I can't really elaborate.

So I'm lost. Was there actually some fucking going on too that made this an actual scandal, or are we talking exclusively about academics now?

That's correct. I was in a one credit pass-fail class my senior year at Notre Dame. You had to attend 10 of 12 lectures from various business executives who came to speak at the University. A large portion of the class (including myself) violated the honor code by having friends sign us in on the attendance slips at various points in the semester. I only did it once, so I can't speak to those who tried to get credit for every lecture that way, but I was given a choice. I came clean, received an F for the course, and that was the end of it. If I tried to fight it I would have gone in front of an honor committee to face who knows what.

Didn't the university state they had proof of alleged wrongdoing - ever how severe that may end up being? Could be something minor but would they sit all four if they didn't have something substantial enough to justify it?

So this potential good news coming from this guy on DD has me thinking.

We need to create a log in in the scUM site. Just keep it active. Once something terrible goes down, come in as the fake knight in shining armor, and say you know someone and deliver news that is good.

Then just crush their hearts.

FWIW, on the DD site, some dude "I'm backing Chirodomer on his one. He is normally dead balls on accurate."

Sounds like you have been trolled by a bunch of Michigan fans

this appears to be the way it's trending for at least two of the four IF the report on DomerDomain is true.

It is strange that even in the best case (DD and KR are reinstated, possibly as soon as Monday), two players will be suspended for some amount of time and we will all think of it as "good" news. Being a ND fan is a weird experience sometimes.

I'm seriously not going to believe anything that doesn't come from the university itself. So much speculation and rumor yesterday...I understand that Fr. Jenkins and Jack tried to keep things from spiraling, but that could all have been PR speak to minimize any damage. Can't go through a roller coaster of BS getting hopes up and then crushing them.

If DD and KR are reinstated... the only real hit from all of this will be to the d-line. Maybe IW gets booted for the semester. Hope that's not the case. Would love to see him play with his hand on the ground and from all accounts he's a good kid. Maybe because he is a 5x recruit and has great measurable, he applies for the draft. Again, that would leave ND thin at d-line for this year. But maybe he sits out this year, almost like a redshirt year, and comes back next year and adds depth to the d-line. Granted, they need him now. But that would be nothing short of a miracle compared to where we were 24 hours ago.

We can all speculate and talk like a bunch of school girls having a sleep over but the only evidence we have in all of this that is definite is FUCK Michigan and U$C can eat a fat dick.

Does he have another year left? Pretty certain he played his freshman year.

That was me. :)

I am a regular on both sites and when one site has something before the other site and I notice it, Ill try to post it on the other site. No harm done.

As a regular on both sites, they are pretty much the same actually. You have the funny people, the eternal optimists, the eternal pessimists, etc. just like this site. IE may have a few more insiders than DD though.

Well, it's definitely better than losing ALL FOUR which was looking to be the case for a while.
