Well, he wasn't a starter. The others are starters, so they should be let off a little easier.

Guys...it was a joke! Tough crowd lol. I've been through the gammit of emotions today and I'm over it already. Time to laugh it off and win some fucking games. I was just fucking around and thought it was pretty obvious.

My bad fellas...

Hah! Totally missed that on first read lol...

GK-- in your best guess right now, will it only be the 4 players currently suspended...or is there potential for more players?

Ahem. The smoking paper trail.

That's why Lois Lerner took the 5th after accidently spillling hydrochloric acid from her coffee cup onto her IRS computer, server, and backup server.

NOTHING is too stern; nothing is off the table! Dude, I'm talking big here...like long, cold, mad-dogging stares lasting minutes at a time. Clint Eastwood Dirty Harry type stares. 5 extra minutes in the ice-tub. Think big. They need a lesson, SEC style.

Haha. text/PM. Same difference.

There are likely former players involved but no other current that I'm aware of.

I agree that a matter like this should be handled by the academic/admin side of the university and not by the coaching staff or AD, but it seems odd that they wouldn't give the HC a heads up that there were allegations or potential suspensions involving some of his players.

I agree. It should be handled by the admin side. My posts were asking why they would not notify him and I believe others posted that they were under the belief that Kelly was probably notified of the accusations when they first came to light, but was not notified to sit anyone till yesterday.

Hopefully the only former player involved is john goodman. Anyone remember how badass he was to the reporter who showed up on his doorstep asking about tommy Rees?

Do you think the investigation has the potential to blow up into something bigger than just these 4 guys being suspended/expelled? Like an actual scandal or ncaa investigation?

OH, don't worry, A TON of ND fans are going to get fucked up tonight.

NDWorld: I hope my post didn't come off as a shot at you - it was more of a "no way did that happen; Swarbrick is lying if he said that"...

just for clarification, I am talking about players. if they were cheating, then fuck 'em. this is total complete bullshit. free scholly, free this, free that...and then they want to cheat?? ...nah, fuck 'em

note: to say that I am extremely pissed off would be a HUGE understatement.

I don't. I have confidence ND will do their due diligence in this. If they had an allegation from a summer class and have worked their way back to at least 2012, then I think they are doing what is necessary to find out everything.

I would maybe be concerned moving forward in recruiting. How far will the school go to let a player in who may be on that borderline? If anything, I think all this really hurts Kelly's chances of convincing the school to let the player in.

Well Fr. Jenkins talking about non-athletes being involved makes me wonder. But I haven't heard anything that would lead me to believe this is a big scandal. At least not how I would define "scandal"

The one thing about this that is difficult to understand is why they would come out and be explicit about the possibility of vacating wins at this point. Everything should be contingent on the investigation in order to not constrain themselves down the road. I understand that it's a preemptive move to make sure the NCAA doesn't get involved right away, but I think it's a big mistake.

It sets up a precedent whereby if a violation is discovered after the fact then wins from the past should be vacated. What if Tony Rice reveals in an interview that he cheated on a test - or even worse, someone digs up some old exams and finds blatant evidence of cheating? By the standard set today, it would seem like in principle they would need to go back and vacate those wins. Just an unnecessary and shortsighted move, in my mind.

Cool. Then that's at least somewhat promising to hear.

Thanks for all the info!

I had the story that Tommy told, in Goodfellas, running through my mind. "What do you want to tell me now, tough guy? I said, 'Me? What are you doing here? I thought I told you go fuck your mother?"

100% Correct!! Makes zero sense!!!

Fr. Jenkins scares me on this issue as he is a liberal who will give the farm away.

Remember he invited pro-abortion and anti-Catholic Obama to speak AND get an honorary degree!!

Still hard to believe!!

It's not like it was a point of emphasis. He actually very casually remarked that, if they found out that they had used ineligible players, then they would choose to vacate those wins.

Settle down clarence.
