I think I'm caught up... so basically we know nothing except for the fact that there is an ongoing investigation that involves some football players.

I was told about it last night and everything I was told was 100% accurate so far. Was told the 2012 season was likely going to be vacated as a result of all this so that means it happened in 2012.

Interesting. I would bet Russell was not involved in 2012, as he was in his first semester. But, years after that is when he must have been involved.

Was informed last night as well but was told it was all from the summer session classes.

Oh jeeze man I'm sorry I just thought I could post my perspective on a message board amoung other fans. I know there's a lot more on the line for this program than a silly fans good times but I'm going to post my perspective and how I feel. Hell if we win two national titles that's gonna be a lot cooler than a pinstripe bowl win. But from the perspective of a fan I think it sucks that this could happen and it's how I feel. If you don't like reading it don't read my posts, bro.

My only QU is, and IDK your source GK, but even though they were dead on on what happened and who's involved, it seems like predicting the sanctions is more of a guess than anything.

Facts are facts. Those 4 (maybe more) did something, but IDK how they drew the conclusion that there will be vacated wins.

I'm not trying to press you for info, but that's why I think it's early to predict how bad this will be.

Based on prior history (of ND football pretty much always getting screwed in these situations), I'd also be shocked if we get these guys this year. Or maybe it's just that the rumor wheel got so heated today that it just seems too good to be true that we could get them back. This was a long day. Having a hard time deciding if it is a worse day than when the Manti news broke or a worse feeling than I had when I heard the Golson news...leaning towards yes- but all rough.

I'm still holding out hope that some of these guys are first time offenders and maybe just suspended for the semester. Would be great if we got a result even more positive than that. Frustrating given the very high expectations for this season. Losing that depth (and the star in KR) really hurts the playoff chances...but hopefully the young guys step up. Still have a really good team. Just less depth.

I think it's painfully obvous what ND has to do, as tough as it sounds - KENDALL MOORE HAS TO GO!!!! What he allegedly did was unbecoming, unfathomable, unconstitutional, and every other 'un' you can think of.

The other 3 starters need stern, and I mean STERN, warnings about their actions, and probably even some extra laps after practice for an entire week...weekends included. ND needs to show these 3 starters that they mean business and these actions will not be tolerated anymore.

But as Coach Harris (John Goodman) famously said on Revenge of the Nerds, "Well what's done is done. Dean, I got a big game coming up and I don't want their minds to be worried about where they will sleep." Or something like that...

Are you saying there's a distinct difference in the actions among the 4? As in, they didn't all do the exact same thing? Or to the exact same extreme?

Read the ND Press Release I posted. President Jenkins stressed this was an academic/integrity issued. The school found out on 7/29 and initiated an investigation by the Office of General Counsel NOT by the football coach nor the AD.

Unlike UA Head Coach Gene Stallings and the AD aren't conducting the investigation. This isn't tOSU President Gee joking about being terminated by the football coach. It's not PSU ... or Miami.

It's a University student matter and is being handled that way as is the custom.

I agree that a matter like this should be handled by the academic/admin side of the university and not by the coaching staff or AD, but it seems odd that they wouldn't give the HC a heads up that there were allegations or potential suspensions involving some of his players.

Well, he wasn't a starter. The others are starters, so they should be let off a little easier.
