What could piss off someone enough to go tell about something happening 2 years ago...

This is usually how violations actually come to pass. Usually it's a disgruntled player mad at a booster/coach who decides to air the dirty laundry. Alabama most recently got burned because one of the many players they pay got bought off by an Auburn booster to tell the truth.

In this case, the idea that she might've snitched on a whole crowd of players is pretty disturbing but possible.

So do I smoke and then start drinking? Pop a Xanax first? What order did you guys do it in? Any Florida guys got some good coke? I will take the first flight down

Smoking first is always the way to go GB. C'mon man.

The sad thing is that we ask so much more of our football players than your typical football factory, so the incentive to cut corners academically is that much greater at ND. But there doesn't seem to be any recognition of that fact in how we discipline our kids.

Wouldn't be the first time that ND has sacrificed the Good on the altar of Perfection.

anyone remmemeber James Patterson book (non-fiction-well researched) "The day america told the truth"...i swear i remember one of the questions they asked people (anonymously) was akin to "have you ever cheated on a test while in high school or college" and the % of respondents who answred YES was something like 80%.
it was a long time ago but it was a very eye opening read...

Absolutely. But to a much larger extent, and it's protected by the school. We're the only school I've ever heard of hunting out plagiarism and cheating by athletes and punishing it.

The extremist minority of Notre Dame administration has been dead set on killing this program for years. Biting the hand that feeds them.

I'm extremely frustrated. The rest of cfb battles the NCAA, we battle ourselves.

To the question of whether this happens at all other schools in the country: of course it does. As to why ND seems to have so much crap poured on it by stuff like this, well consider two things:

1). WE are paying attention to every micro-element of every one of our players lives, and not anything like that for the other teams. Could it be THAT which explains why we notice our own guys' feet-of-clay more?;

2). ND has more people who hate us than any other school, this astoundingly includes many people claiming to be ND fans themselves [talk about psychiatric cases]. Whereas many universities can hardly find anyone who hates them enough to publish and continue to rag on them, people are trampling each other to sh!t on Notre Dame.

If [HAH! "IF"] WMU players were getting cheats done in class and sleeping with every woman with a pulse, do we think that anyone gives a sh!t? "Cover-ups" aren't even necessary. What is really surprising is that FSU, Miami, USC, never have this happen ... what? Wait...!

This is so stupid that it truly makes me furious.

Kids getting papers written for them? This is commonplace. It happens EVERYWHERE and not just with athletes.

A normal penalty would be a hushed suspension for one or two games, MAYBE publicly suspend for a season in extreme situations. But we are launching a thorough investigation and vacating wins. What the actual fuck?

Not that it matters.... but I'd also like to point out that my roommate (who went to Pitt) knows a person that was sleeping with Dion Lewis and wrote EVERY single paper for him.

Like-minded individuals on the BoT exercised a lot of influence during Malloy's tenure, which is a big reason why the program took a nose-dive after Holtz. They wanted to rebrand ND's image from blue-collar Catholic school into a midwestern Ivy, and they felt that the football program was an impediment to that. They want ND to be like Harvard, but (if successful) we'll end up as the midwestern Georgetown instead-- a 2nd rate university with no distinguishing features.

Since this "scandal" touches upon ND's academic integrity, it will surely give the wanna-be elitists plenty of leverage against the program.

I mean, you have to admire ND's scruples on this stuff... the thing of it is, well, remember that picture before the SEC championship game in 2012 with a giant elephant and a giant bulldog about to fight and behind them is a tiny little leprechaun waiting for the winner??? THAT will be the reality for ND so long as things stay the way they are… plain truth is no one else cuts their nose off to spite their face like ND does in cfb.

This is really ruining my fucking day. The more I keep convincing myself it doesn't affect me personally and shouldn't be so bent out of shape about it, the worse it gets.

80% of people have cheated on assignments. That's just general populous.

Football players with limited time with someone willing to write papers? This is the kind of shit that NO ONE bats an eye at.... except Notre Dame, who will make a big deal out of it and vacate victories for no reason.

^This seemed liked a great kid. Maybe he had to much on his plate? IDK or maybe he is just a 20 year old kid who made a mistake.

Or maybe he just wanted some tail one night, and happened to get a free paper out of it... no italics

That's what happens when you "love" someone, or something.... Don't fight it. I'm pretty much in a shit mood for the next month. If we can somehow beat UM, I might come out of my hole.

I thought someone answered my post and said the NCAA determines if games will be vacated....

Notre Dame can delete those wins from the school's own records. But the NCAA would have to agree, in order for the official NCAA records to be amended.

If you have any money, you should spend the weekend doing hookers and blow.

I think I'm just numb to ND drama now... Justin Trattou straight ruined my freakin life... the 300 hits from there to here makes this just fell like a normal 'shitty ND fan experience"... just another day.

I did enjoy some of the posts on the CFB Reddit:

If they've vacating 2012's wins, does that mean this never happened?

BECAUSE IN MY MIND IT NEVER HAPPENED.

Auburn Fan said:
I'm already pretending 2012 never happened. Join us, Notre Dame fans.

Syracuse Fan said:
'Cuse needs all the help we can get on Sept. 27th. I just picked up 23 tickets. For some reason I have a good feeling about this.

Yeah right, they're gonna need more help than this to get another win on us.

OU Fan said:
So are these players being ran off.rubs hands together

This next one isn't really funny, but kind of sad.

A&M Fan said:
I would throw stones, but after talking with numerous former tutors at A&M, shady behavior among athlete tutoring programs is the norm and not the exception because more than half of these guys can't read beyond a 5th grade level. They have absolutely no chance at all of passing otherwise. Sometimes it makes me feel bad that I'm cheering on a system that does this, but if just some of these guys take advantage and finally wise up even after they retire from sports then I think it's worth it.

OSU Fan said:
I'd suggest Notre Dame follows Ohio State's lead and adds a special question to all future football recruit applications:

Are you interested in coming here to play school?

[ ] Yes

[ ] No

Texas Fan said:
Oh, you lost 4 players from suspension/expulsion? That's cute.

GT Fan said:
Yeah, call us when you've lost more than 10 scholarship players in one offseason.

Gator Fan said:
You know it's good when OSU thinks they can get in on making fun of someone for a scandal. Next Penn State will want to make fun of ND!

Wisconsin Fan said:
who the hell actually would have the time to write college papers for 4 different dudes?

the thirst is real

Next one isn't really funny either, but just confirms what a lot of people have speculated
OU Fan said:
Not to get anybody in trouble, but this has apparently been a trend around A LOT of big programs for certain players based on athletes I've talked to, but without the penising.

Irish Fan said:
seemingly a female tutor was writing papers for them in exchange for penising
