THAT will be my pleasure. By the way, a couple of our girls' old playoff games are going to be replayed (Saturday, I think, but maybe even tonight.) (I'm recording so the exact time/channel has slipped my memory ... apologies.)

RIP...

I’d also like to say R.I.P. to my father in-law who I loved very much and died of a massive heart attack this past Monday. He was taken away from us at 74 years young, way to early.

Chilling to Kenny via Amazon Echo all morning.

Listening to him always reminds me of my uncle and godfather (stoic and deeply religious Catholic Italian) who listened typically to Frank and the other Italian crooners, but had a huge soft spot for Kenny.

I also sent my mother, aunts, and some cousins to see Kenny in Indy like 5 years ago. My mother loves him too, but said, Kenny looks really old these day lol..

He's an icon that bridged a lot of music genres.

Probably not a bad time to fold’em, all things considered.

Sport about your loss Sherm.

Kenny started with The New Christy Minstrels then started his own group The First Edition before going solo. Had a lot of crossover hits.

Curley Neal passed today. He and Goose Ausbie carried on the torch for Marcus Haynes and Goose Tatum teamming up with Meadowlark Lemon to keep the Globetrotters on top of their game. Even I forget just how big the Globetrotters were. Saw them at the ACC everrytime they came through. I'm sure in '74 if my Dad would have asked, do you wanna see the Globetrotters or the ND/UCLA game? My answer would have been the Globetrotters 100%.

I still call bald dudes Curly Neal which of course was a knickname after Curly from the 3 Stooges.

Goose Ausbie is the only one left... He was my favorite.

Was planning on seeing him this summer. WTF. He was a childhood legend. I had pickup man single on cassette and would listen to it on repeat. Amazing artist, sad to hear of his passing.

I remember watching the Meadowlark group in my younger days and wondering why they didn't play in the NBA? lol

Same here. Loved watching them play. IMO the old school Globetrotters were much better than the recent version. Was pulled out on the court to learn some tricks when they came to our high school assembly when they were in town for a show...will never forget it.

Legendary NFL kicker Tom Dempsey has passed away at the age of 73 from Covid-19. Dempsey was famous as the kicker who was missing part of his kicking foot, yet booted a 63 yard FG in 1970, a record that stood for more than 40 years. I remember watching that game with my dad as a kid when he made that 63 yard kick.

IIRC he also had one arm that was deformed due to a birth defect. Don’t remember the defensive player but remember he being interviewed. Said they were all laughing when they saw him come out onto the field. Didn’t think he could come close given his physical limitations.

Yeah, he was missing some fingers or part of his arm due to a birth defect. Managed to have an 11 year career in the NFL.

Former All Pro HOF Bobby Mitchell has passed away at 84. Played for the Browns until traded to Washington. One of the earlier known big mistakes made by the Browns franchise.

My grand father’s favorite player. He loved Kaline and dyed just prior the the 84 series. The last convo he had with my father was talking about how excited he was to watch the Tigers in the series,.... in fact one of my only memories of him is him talking about his Tigers.
