I always thought Oprah was a God of some sort.

Merle's been dead for 3-4 years btw.

Damn, you're right. His death popped up on my phone last night and I assume it just happened. Not sure why it did as I'm not a country music guy and hadn't performed any searches related to him or CM.

So sad. Leaves a daughter behind. The wife put out a blue light last night.

Yes, very sad. Life long Indy native too who graduated from Southport.

I used to live over by where she was shot when I first moved back from college. It was rough back then and keeps getting worse. Heck, when I bought my first house Wanamaker was fairly safe, but even that isn't the case any longer and is a big reason why we decided to head south.

It was either that or buy a gun and the last time I shot was 17 years ago when our team went skeet shooting. And I really don't want to buy a gun, but it's leaning more and more that way for safety purposes. I don't think the Brett Bat sitting next to my bed would do much good in a gun battle.

Admittedly, I've had my run-ins with the law but there is no way I could deal with what they must on a daily. It's a crazy world and almost an impossible job they're tasked with.

Dude was in a lot of movies.

and TV. I remember him mostly from First Blood and Cocoon, but he popped into to so many TV shows I can't count on both hands. I remember hating him as a kid for what he did to John Rambo lol..

No Gladiator fans here? He was evil in that movie and sported one hell of a hard forehead.

I am thinking of the right movie, right?

Brian Dennehy dead at 81

Wow, I thought he had already passed away. He and Chris are dancin' in heaven. Couldn't find the scene, this is the best I could do

GOAT WWE announcer Howard "Fink" Finkel passed away at 69. Dude was a legend.

This was super crazy. Just last night I watched Cesaro's debut match in FCW, which used to be WWE's developmental territory. I heard Cesaro announced, and I thought "Holy crap, what is the Fink doing announcing nobodies?" Apparently after he stepped away from the big time ring announcing he did some work for WWE's developmental areas as well as behind the scenes stuff. I was watching the match because supposedly the guy he was facing, Mike Dalton, was about to get canned but he sold Cesaro's uppercut so well they gave him a second chance and he's still wrestling today.

WWE's Tribute was posted earlier today:

One of the last WWE live introductions the Fink did was for CM Punk at the 2011 Survivor Series. He got a huge pop when he came out, fans chanting his name. He was the in ring voice of the 80s and 90s wrestling, the Michael Buffer of the WWF.

Legendary Colts LB Mike Curtis passed away today at the age of 77. No cause of death has been announced yet. Curtis was one of the top LB's in the NFL during the 60's & 70's with outstanding size, speed and range, and one of the genuine tough guys in the league. He was an All-Pro and Pro-Bowler multiple times and one of biggest glaring omissions in the HOF. He's probably most famous, though, for leveling a drunk fan who ran onto the field and grabbed the game ball.

Attended my first on-line (FB Live) funeral over the weekend. My mom's second eldest sister (91) passed last week. Sad that her sisters and extended family couldn't attend (only children, grandchildren, and GGC) but was nice at least to be able to watch on-line.

Strange times.

Thank you sir. Wasn't really that close to her, and more concerned with my mother's loss. I've been closer to her remaining sisters (4). She's one of 11, and 5 of them left with the eldest turning 93 soon, and the youngest in her 60s. Big span.
