I hate to speak ill of the dead, but Douglas likely deserves it. He allegedly (and almost certainly) violently raped Natalie Wood when she was 16 and he was in his 30's. And by rape, I don't mean he got her tipsy and talked her into something she later regretted. I mean he invited her to a meeting to discuss her possible appearance in an upcoming film of his and he then tore her clothes off and forcibly raped her repeatedly over a period of 4 hours. She spent years in therapy dealing with it and it was widely known in the Hollywood community. When Douglas was honored at the 2018 Golden Globes, Twitter and several other groups called them out for honoring him in the MeToo era after what had been an open secret for decades.

Douglas was in over 80 films and was a great actor. Nominated for an Oscar four different times.

Not defending Douglas at all, but it was also known that she "liked" her men. Unfortunately, we'll never learn the real story.

Robert Conrad has passed away at the age of 84. He was such an icon of the 60's & 70's as the tough guy star of The Wild Wild West and Baa Baa Black Sheep (Black Sheep Squadron), as well as a series of Everyready Battery commercials where he dared you to knock a battery off his shoulder.

Great job as Captain of NBC in Battle of the Network Stars. Except when he lost to Mr. Kotter in a 100 yard sprint.

Actor Orson Bean Killed On LA Street Known As Highly Dangerous For Pedestrians

Probably too old for most of the youngsters on here to know. Tony award winner. He was in quite a few movies, but his bread and butter was TV. Sharp witted, he appeared on Johnny Carson a lot and was a guest on a lot of 60's game/quiz shows. At 91 he was in an episode of Grace and Frankie just this year.

Missed this. I didn't realize who he was at first, but after checking his IMDB I realized he was the voice of Bilbo Baggins in the animated 70's version of The Hobbit and Return of the King!

Loved that movie growing up. It introduced me to Tolkien and I'd go on to read all the books once I got older.

James Lipton, the creator and host of "Inside The Actor's Studio" died today at 93. I had no idea he was that old.

Swedish actor Max von Sydow has passed away at the age of 90. Sydow was an acting legend with major chops and a career spanning almost 70 years. He played everything from Jesus in "The Greatest Story Ever Told" to the Three-Eyed Raven in "Game of Thrones," plus appearing in one of the Star Wars films, Conan The Barbarian, and The Seventh Seal.

Can't ommit his role as Father Marin in The Exorcist which I think is the best movie ever.

He was also in a forgotten movie called Dreamscape with a young Dennis Quaid and Christopher Plummer. We were in the video rental business at that time and that was a top renter though not a big box office hit.

Good catch. I forgot about The Exorcist. Never saw Dreamscape.

Greatest movie ever? Greater than Trey Parker and Matt Stone's masterpiece?

Ya should've bolded the... I think part of the post while you were at it.

I don't know about best ever, but definitely a top movie. It was certainly the movie that scared me the most as a kid. Of Horror films, at worst it's top 3. The Shining is up there, and you have to at least mention Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original), Omen, Rosemary's Baby, Pyscho, Evil Dead (original), and Halloween.

The rating system of movies that I never understood back in the day were probably a good Idea. Then Smartphones happened...
PG-13 started in July of 1984. I know I wasn't allowed to watch pg-13 until I turned 13.
Weirdly enough the scary movies were the biggest part of the change. Hence... 13

If you ever need a pick me up, then just play the intro song from this movie. Used to listen to it quite often on the drive to one of my least favorite jobs.

The Exorcist was Sydows best film IMO. Cruz isn't far off. The special effects wouldn't hold up today, but when it came out, it was must see. Everyone talked about it. Had everyone of the edge of their seat. Scared the crap out of pretty much anyone who saw it. Very powerful. I would love to see a remake.

The big question........Who won in the end, the devil or the priest?

I love "Frasier" and I've probably watched every episode at least five times. I've watched the finale episodes at least ten times. To me, "Goodnight Seattle" is the second-best finale of any show I've watched.

I have to believe the emotion that John Mahoney showed when he says "thank you, Frasier" was absolutely real. Couldn't find an actual clip, but the promo showed that scene.

Gets me every time.

Next time in Seattle check out cafe nervous or the Elliot bay towers.

When Art Bell wanted to go national and named his show Coast-to-Coast, Las Vegas billionaire Robert Bigelow helped jump-start the effort (Bigelow was always interested in both UFO encounters and in "Survival" phenomena like Near-Death experiences, and Bell wanted to emphasize them.)

Bell asked Bigelow if he could get some of the solider experts on these things to begin the content of the show. Bigelow knew a lot of such people, and he asked them if they would (without any pay) help Art out. I and five of my friends in UFO research, therefore, did half of the first 10-12 shows with Bell.

Of course one of our local wisea$$es KNOWS that all of us were and are effing crazy --- a comment of the quality that I've come to expect and always thank the Almighty for allowing me to live long enough to receive such insight.

I go to my grave blessed indeed.

Would you mind being blessed later than sooner?

I need you to decipher 2020-2021 WBB games.
