Attended my first on-line (FB Live) funeral over the weekend. My mom's second eldest sister (91) passed last week. Sad that her sisters and extended family couldn't attend (only children, grandchildren, and GGC) but was nice at least to be able to watch on-line.

Strange times.

My grandmother passed away last week too. Only her children and husband were allowed to attend the service, but they also streamed it online. Definitely strange times. They're going to have a memorial for her at her church in July.

I think they are going to try and do the same (memorial) for her later too. The annual family reunion is in August (if they even have it this year) for that side, so I'm sure they'll do something there as well. I've never liked funerals, but it was just strange streaming.

Thanks. We've been pretty blessed in our immediate family. From my grandparents lineage on down we've only had three deaths in two very large families, so it's not something we've had to experience much. I wasn't really able to process my grandfather's (dad's side) passing until his service. My grandmother (mom's side) who just passed had a rather sudden turn after battling cancer on and off the last several years. I'm just glad my mom and her brothers were able to get down to Florida to see her once more before she passed. Cancer is a bitch, for sure.

Kim Jong Un is apparently brain dead. More so than normal this time. Not suggesting he will RIP. Not going to be much peace where he's headed.

I fell into the hysteria created by the media. Not dead yet apparently. Oh well.

All I've seen is "possibly" in grave condition. Scary regardless of the outcome. If he were to meet his end, who would step in?

His sister, apparently.

Couldn't be much worse than him. Hopefully.

Cardiac procedure to deal with problems brought on by obesity and smoking. I'm sending him a get well package with a carton of camels and 24 spicy wings.

Harold Reid, who sang bass for the Grammy-winning country group the Statler Brothers, has passed away after a long battle with kidney failure. He was 80

No thanks. Couldn't believe ABC shilled out and invited Psy on for the New Year's show back in 2013 after the anti-American protests he had taken part in. Very hypocritical, it was a complete sell out move on their part. The guy apologized after the pressure got too much, but I think that was after the fact and ABC at the time should have found another act.

Not sure why anybody would be surprised that ABC had him on after he expressed anti-American sentiments. I would think they'd likely consider that a plus.

Irrfan Khan, the Indian actor who starred in Life Of Pi, Jurassic World and Slumdog Millionaire died today from complications related to cancer. He's been very good in everything I've ever seen him in, having a low-key, understated acting style. Major talent.

Damn, he also played a small but important part in the Darjeeling Limited, which I just rewatched last week. Good actor

Fifty years ago the Ohio National Guard opened fire on students protesting the Vietnam War, killing four. America was never the same.

Mike Storen passed away today at 84

Graduated from ND in the late 50's, was part of Terry Brennan's program for a year or two.

Father of ESPN's Hannah Storm.

Was from my hometown of Michigan City, IN. MC's had a rough year losing Dick Tomey, Don Larsen & now Mr. Storen.

He was a longtime NBA & ABA executive. Was GM of numerous NBA/ABA franchises (including #1's Pacers) and the Commissioner of the ABA, CBA and the Indoor Pro Football League.

RIP Mr Storen.

Remember him quite well. He was Business Manager for the NBA Cincinnati Royals when he was offered the GM job with the Pacers. Left the Pacers in '70 to take the GM job with the Kentucky Colonels.

Was also instrumental behind the scenes in keeping the Pacers alive with a telethon in '77. NBA had set admission requirements so steep the four teams, Pacers, Spurs, Nuggets and Nets barely had enough money to operate. Pacers put on a telethon with Slick Leonard as host. The rest as they say is history.

Roy Horn passed away from Covid-19 today. He was half of the Siegfried & Roy tiger training and magic duo. Roy was the one who was attacked and severely injured by one of their tigers in 2003.

This is sad news. S&R were the face of Las Vegas when I started going there years ago, and they will always be one of the first things that comes to mind when I think about The Strip. True legends.

*Roy was one of the toughest SOBs out there. He fought so hard after the infamous attack injury that should have killed him, and even continued to perform in a very minor capacity, because he loved it so much.
