Per Whiskey:

This has been discussed here before, but I'm sure we could narrow down the pool of potential transfer candidates to a handful if we tried. Search criteria: (1) Safety; (2) RS Junior in 2014; (3) currently plays for a competitive FBS school with respectable academics.

There can't be more than a handful of such players in any given year, can there?

So who are these players. Considering we may take more than one, a list of these guys would give us a good idea.

Interesting response from BK today regarding Nicky Baratti. I think most of us assumed he was finished as a result of injuries. That doesn't seem to be the case though.

Does this change the thought process on getting a transfer at safety?

Brian Kelly is always mr positive when it comes to injuries. Doesn't usually come through in the long run.

Kelly also said, in his presser, that the coaches were not done yet. However, he did say that all of the guys who were going to be signing had done so. When asked if the "not done yet" stuff was related to the issues at Safety, Kelly replied yes. I'm paraphrasing, of course, but Kelly STRONGLY indicated that he was looking at someone(s) transferring in, to help at Safety.

- A Stanford Undergrad paired with a Notre Dame Grad degree looks pretty good
- With all of the rumors surrounding him transferring, maybe he wants a change of scenery.

There were rumors recently that Wayne Lyons might be transferring (to Michigan, ugh) so that is a definite possibility.

1. He already has playing time at Stanford.
2. Hard to make an argument for a graduate program at ND that would be superior to Stanford.
3. Sure? But then why to a school he was rather lukewarm on during the process. We were only a token "finalist" and not seriously in play with him for months.

here is low on lyons from everything i have read on internet...he said he was coming back to SCHOOL for his 5th year...then it became auto(insert stanford fans) that it was to stanford but then a Lee Corso "NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND" came out that he was looking at UM(rivals/scout boards)...he has been quiet on twitter except he did Favorite Reid's tweet coming to palo...not following any ND people...i doubt it folks
