What about someone from UF again- with a coaching change, players may be looking to leave, may have communicated with riggs about how well the year went, etc.

edit: Brian Poole? lol

oh my.

Thoughts:

- Reymound Wright: not likely at all
- Brennan Scarlett (Cal): Missed all of '13 and a large part of '14
- Wayne Lyons: not likely at all
- Valdez Showers (FL): Switched to RB, from CB last season. Former 4* CB from MI.
- Brian Freaking Poole...

Just spitballin'.

"Position of need" has got to be S or RB, with the former being more likely than the latter. There aren't many programs graduating football players who are: (1) talented enough to impact our depth chart; and (2) qualified for graduate school-- USC, UF, Duke, Stanford, etc. If we took to time to check out those rosters, we could probably come up with a short list of likely candidates.

RB isn't a position of need. GB's still waiting to get his shot!

Had to laugh at your post, because as soon as I read Lucky's first post, my thought jumped to some IE'ers scurrying through the interwebby thing trying to figure out whom it might be.

Has to be a safety.

I wonder if it does? I mean, i'm guessing that this isn't a spur of the moment decision. So this could have been a long time coming. Also, even if it's not a position of need, if its a good player we should take them. Regardless of positional need, we need warm bodies.

I hope its a safety though.

Omar Hunter. He has petitioned for an extra year of eligibililty due to not playing to his potential his freshman year because his grandmother was ill.

Most likely, the staff probably had some intereaction with the recruit during his recruiting process. Assuming the position of need is S, look back at 2011 class, anybody jump out as prospects that were considering ND before going elsewhere?

Isn't Savon Huggins transferring? I haven't heard if his landing spot has already been determined or not.

I believe it was talked about in another thread, but his main reason for transferring is playing time. If he were to come to ND, I highly doubt he would supplant Folston as the #1 RB, but might be able to battle off Bryant as the #2.

I don't see it being a RB. My guess is another nickelback

So interestingly enough, I didn't get around to posting it yet but, in another segment Wiltfong predicted a few things about the incoming class and one of those was that Shaun Crawford would see immediate playing time as the starting Nickel. Not saying the two couldn't go together, I'm just not sure its likely.

Huggins could have reached out to ND thru the coach Hansen-Wimbush channel...

Isn't he a year too young to fit the profile?

Yes. Class of 2012. He did not redshirt, and played extensively in each of the last three years. Unless he's a monster student and has somehow graduated early, I don't see how it can be Poole.

Michigan and Florida would make sense with the coaching changes and fact that we recruit against them

Who is this Brian Poole you speak of?

He is only a junior, so it won't be him.

What about Joel Hale from OSU? He was an Indiana guy from '11. I know he played some on the D line for the Buckeyes.

Wouldn't it be an interesting trend if kids started graduating early to do two graduate years instead of one? I mean, with early enrollment, AP credits, summer school and whatnot it isn't unreasonable to see a kid graduate in three and a half years, especially at some of the less academically challenging programs. Then you get a two year master's at a premier program of your choice, plus premier players have two years to step into a favorable depth chart situation.
