40 is too generous. Denver would put up as many points as it wanted and Bama couldn't do anything about it. I see this conversation every year about whether Bama could beat an NFL team. It could NOT. Not even the shitsy Jags.
My Alabama homer boss recently told me that Alabama would beat every team in the NFL except for Denver, Baltimore, and Atlanta. In reality Jacksonville's back ups would probably win by 30 points.
Perhaps if the Vikes were to play Alabama Christian Ponder could look like a decent QB...no just kidding he'd still suck.
How about the worst team in NFL history (maybe the 0-16 Lions) vs the best team in CFB history? May have a shot there

This is about as funny as the womens ncaa basketball team (Tennessee maybe?) Beating the worst mens team.
I have always heard that and thought it was an unfair discussion though... that's just the evolution of the sport.. give the 68 packers a year of modern training and they'd adjust just fine... on the flip, take away said training and throw the best of this era and they wouldn't blow everyone away... good athletes are good athletes...
at least that's my thoughts on it...
It's like the argument that Babe Ruth wouldn't do anything today... bah... he'd face a tighter wound ball thrown from lowered mounds, in smaller parks, with better training techniques and equipment against diluted pitching and you think he'd do WORSE???

I want them to just go ahead and do this one year to show people who don't understand how vast the disparity is.
