Looks like being a tall running back is a little overrated

Except that the best rb on that list is 6'1". ;)

I wish E-40 would make a remix to 'white girl' and tailor it to Cam. 'White boy'.

Speed and next level aside, Cam is a hell of a football player. I am far more comfortable watching him back there, never takes an 8 yard loss. He always fights for yardage, makes people miss and never fumbles. He got his bell rung and cam right back in.

Would be fully on board with him becoming the full-time back for the next 2 years. Was skeptical before tonight, but we have so much god damn talent, we can take a solid B at the RB position.

Does he have 2 years left?

Cam is the most underrated tough guy since TommyZ. Hopefully he will leave, when his eligibility expires after the '14 season, with that same correctly attributed mantle.

It's crazy watching the difference in how he runs vs. Atkinson. Atkinson runs like he is thinking the entire time, McDaniel runs decisive. He hits holes hard, follows his blockers, etc. He is by far the best option for any 3rd & short or red zone carries.

I'd really like to see Carlisle and Folston get more work in place of Atkinson. I understand that Atkinson is explosive, but the amount of negative plays he makes really mitigate that home run threat because they can be drive killers.

Underrated? He is getting carries at ND despite he is a limited RB fighting for playing time with some former HS 5*. I think he is very well valued here, in fact, i think he a little overrated in this forum as a player but he deserves it with his team first attitude and toughness.

ED: I'd find it hard to disagree with that more.

McDaniel has an impeccable pedigree of accomplishment pre-college and since coming to Notre Dame in terms of actually delivering when called upon both on the field and in the camps and training facilities.

It would be a VERY difficult argument to make that he has gotten the game opportunities that he's deserved if both the staff and fans [for what little OUR opinion is worth] were not applying some sort of "future potential" or "eye-test" to other players "ahead" of him.

McDaniel has had to fight that stupid eyetest thing every step of the way. And the fact that he's had to carry that extra burden to get on the field means by definition that [since he's delivered] he's been underrated.

I'm not prejudiced in favor of anyone on any other grounds than what I see on the field. THAT however makes me "prejudiced" in favor of Cam McDaniel --- who alongside TJ, Big Lou, most of the OLine, Grace, Russell, and maybe a few others [including Tommy] are our true warriors on this team.

........ I have to specifically cite Kona too as one of our great warriors. He has really pleased me this season --- fine job Big Man!.

Underrated? Yes. "Cam is the most underrated tough guy since TommyZ."

Now as a running back:

All state 5A (big schools) Texas.

Mr. Football? or equivalent.

Phenomenal shuttle time.

Work ethic out the @ss.

Does anything the coaches ask of him.

Last night he only missed his cut off a pulling guard block once. GAIII missed the hole most of the time, and shows a propensity to cut regardless of the situation, as if his first inclination is to bounce it outside.

Kona was a warrior god last night. He blew up so many plays, especially a couple important third downs that he helped create the numbers superiority that ND had in rushing the passer. ASU was simply fvcked trying to double Lou, and Kona, with Tuitt, Williams, and Shembo unaccounted for!

He would not say that, he would say "Dear baby Reesus, if they give me the ball with your help I will get thou a half yard."

Whatever his motivation was taking on the gauntlet in pre-season (check out the article I posted back when he ran into the gauntlet drill backwards for the reference), no way USC's defense was any tougher than that metal box he ran into. Then again, it's hard to deny Reesus after watching what came after him.

Seriously though... is he smirking in that picture? As if he's amused at USC's defense and their attempts at tackling him?
