Think our Miami friends will be back?
Either Miami's front 7 is terrible, or Wood took a big step in learning how to run with this new zone blocking scheme. We'll know more next week.
Good game by Golson. The QB read makes us more dangerous, no turnovers, threw the ball well. Nice step forward, but he's still got a ways to go, particularly inside the pocket.
Nice game by Daniels and Jones. They showed good hands. Eifert is always good. Great blocking by Niklas.
I'll say it again: GAIII is going to be a big star in the Adrian Peterson category before all is said and done.
After the first drive, which was scary, the D played great. It is still a legitimate concern how well we can defend against teams with elite WR's and QB. Thankfully, our front 7 is tough and relentless in pass rushing, and can make teams one dimensional by stopping the run.
1. Great win for the program. It's games like these that launch momentum, especially for the offense, that can serve as a spring board.
2. We adjusted well to the speed, it may pay off down the road against USC. Its a good thing that we saw it now and survived.
3. Brian Kelly gets the game ball. He called one hell of a game. The zone read is going to become a big part of our offense. I love how hes evolved as a coach. He strangles teams to death slowly. This greats a feeling of anxiousness and mistakes in the opposition.
4. EG looked like he grew alot over the bye week. He was reading the coverage very well, and that pass to DD was awesome. He read the safety's position perfectly.
5. Props to our line and backs. They did their job.
6. Nice adjustments by Diaco. He changed it up well. No TD's in 3 games. Letting up a little over 7 per game. We might be up to #1 in scoring defense now. TCU is not average over 10 in their loss.
Great win. Great game. 5-0!!!!!
It was finally nice to sit next to my dad who's 66 years old this evening and out of the corner of my eye catch a little smirk....I asked him what that was all about and all he could say was...." "We"re back"...
I believe we are boys....

Isn't that a great feeling! I have almost the same situation with my dad (59).

Acutally ND only had NO Sacks, NO Forced Fumbles (or unforced either), NO INTs, one TFL, and 4 QBHs. They persisted but Miami's QB had time. As for running MIA averaged 5.4 yds a game. ND didn't shutdown their run down rather they had to give up the rush and throw more as ND's lead grew bigger. They had the ball for less than 4 minutes in the 3rd Q and less than 21 minutes in the entire game.
The OLine and RBs had a great game.
Putting it in perspective this is probably the poorest or second poorest rushing defense ND's faced this year. ND looked great against Navy as well.
Miami's Rush Defense was ranked #112 by the NCAA before ND put up 300+ on them.
It's a good game to build from.
