I went to the Capital One Bowl last year, and Alabama made MSU look like Mount Holyoke. It wasn't even as close as the 49-7 score implies. Just throwing that out there.

Welcome!
Kelly moves Floyd all over the field. Adams won't be matched up against Floyd most of the time. I also see lots of unblooded sophomores in your secondary and LB corps-- Lewis, Dennard, Allen and Bullough. Our WRs are probably going to have a very big day against your Spartans... not that success in the passing game made much difference for us in the last couple weeks.
Your DL definitely looks to be the strength of your defense, but how did Youngstown State average 4.25 YPC against them? I think that shows how big the loss of Gordon and Jones is for your front seven. Our OL and RBs have put up big yards against two tough DLs already; I doubt we'll have trouble moving the ball on the ground against you.
Cousins scares me. He's one of the best pure passers we'll face this season. If our secondary plays anything like it did against UM, we're in big trouble. That said, if your running game isn't firing on all cylinders, State is gonna struggle. How did you only manage 3.7 YPC against FIU? Our DL has dominated the point of attack against two good running teams already.

cousins will be looking to right himself after that INT in 2009 that ultimately lost them the game. ND secondary has to step it up big time. M.Floyd will be the key to victory for ND, IMO.
All four starters in our secondary are in their final year of eligibility; it's easily the most experienced unit on our team. And these same guys were really good last year! They ranked 5th against the pass nationally.
But they've been terrible thus far. I don't know how to explain it.

That can be a really good thing for this season, but very bad for next season.
We have been favored in all 3 games so far. What the heck are you talking about?
Beau was thinking that 10 turnovers and back to back losses would make ND the underdog to an undefeated, Top 25 team.
My only explanation is Vegas has seen Rees, Wood, and Collinsworth walking around campus with footballs duct taped to their hands.

No. Darrin. Walls.
"Notre Dame has been listed as a 6-point favorite over Michigan State at the Hilton.”
I don't understand this line either. That is exactly why I don't like to bet sports unless it is betting vBucks.
If you had problems basically stopping a 1 man show, it may be a long night with Cousins, Baker, Bell, Cunningham, Sims, Keyshawn Martin, etc, etc....

We are 5 point favorites. Amazering.

Eh...we've played 2 cupcakes....1 good game and 1 yawner....you guys have absolutely blown your feet off (it's beyond shot) with 2 decent teams. I'm sure odds makers are just saying no WAY ND has that many T.O.'s again.
That being said....MSU is equal to or better at every phase/group than Michigan with the exception of QB mobility....but that doesn't matter much if you have a mobile QB that throws 40%.

I think MSU by 7. Go Green!
Have you seen the economy in Michigan? Vegas has to get creative, to get people to bet on the Spartans.
Unless I am looking at it wrong, we are 3.5 pt favorites for Saturday

Hey Guys...sorry for off topic post....looking to secure row 6 / section 3 for the game....anyone have an idea on how decent these would be? I heard the depth perception that low in ND Stadium may be any issue? Any feedback would be much appreciated.
The source you keep referring to (in regards to last year's defensive rankings) is inaccurate. Our defense barely scraped the Top 50 nationally. There's no way in hell we were Top 5 in pass defense.
Those are actually pretty damn good seats right on the goal line (I think... going off memory here). I prefer ~row 10 because of what you mentioned... hard to see the play sometimes being that close.
Thanks just locked them in.....wanted to get relatively close just for the experience...but also wanted to avoid the sun in our faces the whole game (that's more so I don't here it from the wife!).
Have fun. It's the best stadium to watch a game at. End of story.![]()
