I call them assumptions because I did not see one down of the game. I was at work until the 4th quarter, then didn't have the patience to try to weed through the online video bs.

1. REESUS!!! Stat line looks phenomenal for Tommy. Good job, young man.

2. A special acknowledgement for Andrew Hendrix, who completed his first(?) pass of the season tonight.

3. What happened to the running game? I expected ND to put up huge rushing numbers. USAFA outrushed us by more than 2 to 1. (USAFA: 290 yards, ND: 135 yards) I'm guessing that maybe the O Line did not have their best game, in terms of run blocking?

4. I can't speak much for the defense; They gave up a fair amount of yards, but kept the score low. Without having seen the game, I really have no idea how they looked.

Sorry for the weak thread this week, but I just couldn't work out watching the game.

8 in the box all first half. So we chucked it. Once they started cheating out of the box in the second half to stop our passing game, we started getting some runs in there. Helped to set up the over the top to Chris Brown and the one Hendrix chucked to Fuller.

D looked fine after the first quarter. Jaylon was an absolute playmaking beast.

- Rees was amazing

- Fuller making plays down field is awesome

- Folston was fun to watch

- Cam/Folston should be getting 75% of the carries IMO

- TJ was awesome again. Super consistent

- DEs were underwhelming. Didn't help the OLBs at all

- Jaylon struggled with containment, but he's so athletic he still made some great plays

- Kendall Moore looked really good at MLB

- I would be fine if GAIII never took a meaningful carry again

- Kavaire Russel played like a full grown man

Reesus looked better in person than that stat line does. He was great.

The running game, we went pass first from the start. It seemed like we didn't even try to run much until after half.

The D did as it has this year, tightened up at half. A lot. Jaylon looked a bit lost at the start but got better as the game went. He had a fumble recovery that shoulda been a TD but they blew the whistle.

-Russell and Jaylon are absolute studs and I love watching them play.

-You can see how good Folston will be.

-GAIII simply doesn't have anything besides straight line speed. I feel like he is a fumble risk every time he carries the ball.

-Oline pass protected extremely well.

-Rees had his best game in an Irish uniform but the competition was really weak...

-Still don't get why we run empty backfield on 3rd and short with an immobile QB

Holding Air Force to under 300 yards rushing is an accomplishment.

The problem with the run game, imo, is scheme.
The rb is always running 3-8 yards parallel to the line of scrimmage before turning it up field.
When they attacked downhill, they gashed them.

I know it was only against Air Force, but the fact that Rees was so accurate was the biggest thing for me. He could have easily missed some of those throws but was on point all game. Back shoulder to CB was outstanding.

Notre Dame walked a 1-6(now 7) team. The reason Air Force out rushed us is because thats all they do, not to mention ND had issues early containing the option. I try not to look to much into these games. A lot of players did really well but we have to remember who the opponent is. I think i heard at one point an announcer call TR a "mobile quarter back who can make plays with his legs" as well

Jaylon... Jaylon... Jaylon!!! Dude is an absolute playmaker on defense. Looks as good as any freshman in the country. Hes becoming as good against the run as he is against the pass and that's scary.

Cole Luke will be a very good player next year in Bennetts spot. Does all the little things really well and he's extremely smart.

Kendall Moore looked like a boss against the run. Granted its Air Force so not much of a pass threat but still looked good.

I love Folston. I can't stress enough how good I think this kid will be. His lateral movements are amazing.

Fuller is a more seasoned and prepared Chris Brown. Can stretch the field and is a great route runner.

TJ is absolutely nasty. Love how this kid brings it weekly.

Rees looked great. Some of his career stats are impressive. Third in career touchdowns and 20-6 as a starter. Bitches better recognize!

Also good to see Fuller, Robinson, and Brown get their first touchdowns.

Rees 5 TD passes to 5 different players.

Both Hendrix and Rees hit receivers in stride a long way down field. Both demonstrated that they can "close" defenses pay.

Hendrix was only 1 for 4 but the one, was sweet.

Too many defenders for the rushing attack and Jimmy has a good point.

Cam had more success in the second half.

Folston is the face of things to come.

The Commodore is going to have a BIG career.

Brown may be the fastest but he's not the most disciplined receiver.

Defense gave up yards as expected but didn't give up big plays.

Some tough hits by the corners.

Wished Rees could have had a 300 yd game (16 yds short) and a shot at another TD pass.

That said, for the TEAM, Hendrix 47 yard bomb was more important.

BOWL ELIGIBLE!

In a Word...CLEAN.

Still things that need to be done on both sides of the ball, but I saw an offense take what it was given...AND EXECUTE EARLY, and then it was over. I saw a defense whose athleticism as compared to Air Force was stunning, but they also did some solid things...Russel is becoming your leader...tough, smart, starting to get a sense of the game now...Smith...WOW! Kendall Moore, WooHoo, that was fun to watch.

rees was untouchable
tj is mr consistent
oline did great on pass plays
folston has great vision
d looked like **** in 1st quarter, settled down and knew what to do
jaylon took a half to understand and then dominated
de's where were they?
fuller was looking real good
robinson should have had a huge catch to start the game but dropped it, he certainly made a hell of a grab later for td
kendal moore- f#ck yeah glad to see the man do well
hendrix besides 1 pass play looked like well last game

this was a great game for me because we had family over and couldn't get into my normal routine so i was glad it wasn't close because i was really pissed on the opening 2 drives and couldn't take the talking over the game on these drives

The D adjusted and held the AF for 10 points. TR had soooooooo much time to pass that it was great. What made me cringe was the fact that GA and CM had trouble running against the AF.

When TF was in he was able to twist and turn and gained more yardage. As I was leaving, AH was inserted and made some great plays. I heard this through the PA system and as you can imagine, the whole ND fan base went crazy.

Also, there were soooo many ND fans at the game that I felt bad for the AF Academy.

GO Irish!!!

Everyone is forgetting to mention how well our o line played. Tommy could've made himself a ham and Swiss sandwich back there on some plays.

They played great in pass protection, but their run blocking was disappointing considering the incredible size advantage we had. AF's front 7 is so tiny.

I saw Tommy have so much time to pass the ball. I felt like I could have grabbed a coke and some chips before he passed the ball.

REESUS was great.

Jaylon is gonna be a legend before his time is up.

Folston will be huge the next couple years.

Contain was a bit shaky at first, but the D looked really good. Little to no missed tackles which I haven't seen in quite some time. The hits were hard and they wrapped up all day.

Can't wait to see this team in person next week!

Bowl Eligible and on to the next one!

You heard correctly.

Sad thing is Tom Hammond would never have made that mistake about Tony Reese.

We just controlled the game, as we were supposed to. Lots of back up guys got lots of time. This is the type of game we need to have in week 1-3.

The only disappointment I saw today was George. He just isn't a running back and I think his playing time at Notre Dame is in serious jeopardy.

I would say Amir has been disappointing too but I think he needs to switch to a receiver, not a hybrid. Get him the ball in space, I've seen them do that once against Temple and he ran for 45 yards
