I don't think it's unfair, I think you're both saying exactly. We all recognize that what you see is basically what you get with Tommy Rees, he's "hit his ceiling" for all intents and purposes. He's just saying that he wants more from the QB than what Tommy seems to be capable of, not that Tommy should be the one to deliver it.

Ahh..got ya.

And Pat, never change.

I don't quite understand why we're debating the limitations of Reesus 8 games into the season. I could see if we had a better option it would be worth discussing what Tommy brings to the table and what another player might bring. The fact is we don't have another QB at this time, at least not one that's on the team presently or that isn't redshirted/learning the offense. It just seems like a discussion like this where we're comparing Tommy against opponent QBs, or against himself, just leads to talking in circles.

I struggle to think what this season, last season, or the previous seasons would be like if Tommy hadn't risen above some of his limitations. He wasn't expected to do anything but run Scout team if you read the early posts in his recruiting thread, maybe get some starts as a Senior. If Tommy is the best we've had, we'd be pretty screwed if he wasn't dedicated to the team and his position. We wouldn't have gone undefeated last year, we would have needed at least 2 more years to break the USC losing streak, we don't beat Utah in 2010, and without him this year this team might be 2-6 right now with wins against Temple and Air Force probably. 6-2 doesn't feel too bad when you consider that, especially when the losses came against Michigan and OU. Arguably there were plenty of other things that went wrong in those two games besides a couple QB mistakes.

That's not hate, I genuinely want to know how you reacted to the 2007 season haha. That season was a train wreck, and you struggle to find positives from ND's past few seasons, which have been quite good.

I would guess what we have all come to know and love was begat during the 07 season... just a guess.

It was pretty awful. Especially living down here in the south.

It's so bad that I've actually bought into what peopel say around her. When we finally win a title, I'm assuming this giant black cloud of bitterness is going to come rushign outta my mouth like some horror movie and, in the shape of Lou Holtz, it will turn around and tell me that I can move on.

Yeah, I've thought about that.

I think It'd be better if the voice were Morgan Freeman, and the ghostly thing be the four horseman...if we get to have an opinion in the matter...

I just think Morgan's work on the Sorority Girl reading shows him to be able to range from deity to Sleezy B!tch...who else has then?...

I will let you gentlemen choose. It's only fair since you've had to put up with my constant bitching and rational views on ND's current QB......

When ND finally wins one I think I'm deleting my account here and over at GH and moving the hell on to other things... not that I won't be a ND fan til I die, but part of what drives me in this is the stubborn notion of sticking to it and the feeling of complete unfairness that cfb brings where the cheaters get rewarded and those that do things the right way get bashed on ESPN... it’s beyond fandom and most of it comes down to just wanting to see them pull it off ONE MORE TIME… for the reasons I stated above...

I can see it now...

Pat: Oh dear God. ND won a title. What is this feeling?

*Black cloud of despair exits Pat's chest, takes the shape of the Four Horsemen*

Morgan Freeman Voice: You have been cured of your heartache. Go now and be at peace with your team. The Irish have risen.

Pat: Oh come on dude. You sound like a cheap knockoff of Morgan Freeman. And those horses are not nearly big enough. Sure, they get it done. But they would be more effective if they were more mobile and actually beat somebody good in a race.

*Horses explode into Hell fire, Pat is miserable again. Complains that the college football must be down since ND was actually able to win a title*
