I don't quite understand why we're debating the limitations of Reesus 8 games into the season. I could see if we had a better option it would be worth discussing what Tommy brings to the table and what another player might bring. The fact is we don't have another QB at this time, at least not one that's on the team presently or that isn't redshirted/learning the offense. It just seems like a discussion like this where we're comparing Tommy against opponent QBs, or against himself, just leads to talking in circles.
I struggle to think what this season, last season, or the previous seasons would be like if Tommy hadn't risen above some of his limitations. He wasn't expected to do anything but run Scout team if you read the early posts in his recruiting thread, maybe get some starts as a Senior. If Tommy is the best we've had, we'd be pretty screwed if he wasn't dedicated to the team and his position. We wouldn't have gone undefeated last year, we would have needed at least 2 more years to break the USC losing streak, we don't beat Utah in 2010, and without him this year this team might be 2-6 right now with wins against Temple and Air Force probably. 6-2 doesn't feel too bad when you consider that, especially when the losses came against Michigan and OU. Arguably there were plenty of other things that went wrong in those two games besides a couple QB mistakes.
