Anyway, I do laugh at most of this but if I'm honest there is some concern too... these kids have always been around but in the past we allowed them a protest day, away from lecture halls, or whatever,... then, "Okay, you've fought the fight and had your day, get the hell back to class now." Clearly we are trending away from that here and giving them power to do what they are doing is concerning imo. My gut tells me this isn't something that will remain exclusive to college campuses. Just my thoughts.

Do you know a single person in your life as bad as these weirdos in this video? I don't.

Unfortunately yes, I do.

Hell I'm just a few years removed from college and if any one did or said anything even remotely like this:

How do you measure if one doesn't like "Freedom"?
The way they vote? I don't see many people on the left or right talking about freedom except maybe Rand Paul. They don't even fake like they like freedom, they just argue about whose version of tyranny is better.

Yes.

Is there any actual evidence that this is the case? I agree this same kind of idiotic protesting has always happened, but is there any actual evidence that it's being treated more loosely?

I mean, hell... Kids protested Charles Manson going to prison because they thought he "still had some good tunes left in him" back in the day. Just no Twitter to send it out to the world back then.

Unfortunately yes, I do.

In re: to Wiz's actual post, do you feel people like that are outliers or in the middle of personalities in your life?

My wife has never seen an episode of The Simpsons. True Story.

-They wanted a "day without whites"
-School allowed them to do it
-Some rightfully refused to play along
-Those who stood up are now being targeted as racists
-Students in the middle are scared to speak up

Sound about right? I shouldn't have to 'provide evidence' that this is a bit different from past generations' college weirdos.

How is the right any better? Did you happen to notice that a Republican is currently trying to make it easier for the Feds to steal personal property?

Secondly, that is a stupid way to judge if someone "likes Freedom". Just because someone votes for Bernie, it doesn't mean that they want the country to be police state. That's more than a reach.

First of all, I think you're a liar. Secondly, you think people like that make up the middle ground of our country? What kind of bizzaro world do you live in?

Hey dumbass, I very clearly indicated that everyone is complicit. Show me where I said "the right" was immune.

Socialism is a police state, by definition. That's what socialism is. "Give me your stuff so I can redistribute it or else you go to prison."

Connecticut.

No, I don't think those people are the "middle ground," but I also don't think they're as much of a tiny fringe as you would have us believe.

- There were "colored only" signs in theaters during segregation
- Schools have allowed all kinds of crazy things over time, do you think that's new?
- ok?
- By who? 30 or less weirdos in a school?
- Can you link the student body poll you're pulling that from?

You did so when you specifically pointed out the left (in particular Bernie supporters) as being freedom hating as a group. You made no mention of the right being the same. Nor would that be accurate either.

Weird... I must have missed the speech where Bernie said he was going to throw people in prison if he couldn't take their money and give it to the poors. Where do you attend your militia meetings, btw?

Connecticut.

I guess I'm confused, because just a few posts ago you clearly stated that you thought the middle was comprised of freedom hating pinkos. Now it's "not as many as you would believe".

Ok, wiz.... ok....

Richard Dawkins has been canceled from his talk for his new book at Berkeley on Aug 9th.
Reason: hate speech.

Are you a liar today? Or just stupid? Bubbles shared the following graph:

v4qa6p.jpg

Then I said that I think reality is "exactly the opposite." Exactly the opposite of that graph is lots of people on the right and lots of people on the left who support varying degrees of fascism (though admittedly not by name) with a few people in the middle who support freedom.

Weird... I must have missed the speech where Bernie said he was going to throw people in prison if he couldn't take their money and give it to the poors. Where do you attend your militia meetings, btw?
What do you think taxes are? What do you think happens to people who don't pay them? The end product of every single law is police action.

CT is #2 because it sucks, btw. Y'all have high taxes, terrible pizza and no professional sports teams.
You wouldn't like it here. We don't have poors.

Which is kind of weird considering he's basically king of the neckbeards. You'd think Berkeley would welcome him with open arms.

Pretty sure in Berkeley right now, your post would be considered hate speech by someone. I don't think someone could order at a McDonalds without committing hate speech there right now.

Hell, he's been dead for 5 years. Loved him on Hogan's Heroes.

Seriously, isn't Dawkins VERY liberal? What could he say that the Berkeley crowd would label as hate speech? That Homo ergaster replaced Homo habilis because they were superior?

Dawkins, who is a liberal, has been critical of Islam, which is conservative. But the progressives, who are illiberal, think that criticizing Islam, which is conservative, is something that conservatives, who are actually neo-liberal, would do.

Islam is one of the most revered classes of people in the Oppression Olympics, never mind the fact that it stands directly opposed to everything the so-called progressive left is supposed to stand for. Criticizing Islam is worse than criticizing gays, never mind the fact that Islamic countries are the worst places on Earth to be gay.

The twisted logic of all this is amazing, isn't it? It's not about facts, right & wrong, or anything else that makes any sense in a reasonable universe. It's about identity/victim politics.
