Punish the people who let the pedophilia run wild, not the kids who had nothing to do with it.
The kids who chose to go to school there knowing they would not be able to go to a bowl?

Consent to an injustice does not make it just. The kids who chose to go to school there knowing they would not be able to go to a bowl?

I've always believed that the ncaa had no business imposing the sanctions they did against penn state's football team...but that penn state deserved every single punishment they received.

I agree completely. That's how this whole game works. My comments were more on how it ought to work.Concepts of justice typically don't make much sense when applied to a multi-billion dollar non-profit corporation like PSU. And the sanctions at issue here had as much to do with justice as the recent pillorying of Donald Sterling (read: very little).
The NCAA is its member institutions. Just as Sterling's racist comments were bad for the NBA's business, the Sandusky scandal was bad for the NCAA's business. In both situations, a group of immensely wealthy and powerful corporate entities got together and took action for PR concerns. Because money talks at that level, but "justice" doesn't.
And now the PSU sanctions have presumably been walked back for the exact same reason.
Wut. Dude has been on a tear this season and ND needs two RBs this class.
Nowhere else to dump this, but did anyone see that Maryland captains refused to shake hands with the Penn State ones during the coin toss?
There was a rhubarb between the two teams pregame.

I might refuse too. Penn State needs to take a break for a while. Put itself back together after what happened. Too many people still defending the school too hard for them to get respect back.
"Penn State" the school didn't do anything, considering a school is an inanimate place incapable of action. INDIVIDUALS at Penn State did horrific things and those INDIVIDUALS deserve punishment. Criticising current players for something they had literally nothing to do with is akin to refusing to associate with Catholics in 2014 because the crusades happened or preventing your kid from hanging out with a friend because his grandfather was a criminal.I might refuse too. Those individuals were charged by the board of trustees with maintaining control of the University. They used that control to facilitate horrible crimes occurring in the athletic program over many years. Your analogy is horribly flawed. I am not blaming 19th century Pennsylvanians. I am blaming a culture that permitted crimes to happen in the name of protecting a football program-a culture which persists to this day and needs to be beaten out of them.

Those individuals were the power structure at PSU. They set the culture, they tolerated the abuse and perpetuated the cover up.
Instead of citing the crusades of almost 1000 years ago, wouldn't it have been more appropriate to contrast the predatory child abuse cover up at PSU with the widespread predatory child abuse tolerance and cover up by the 20th Century Catholic Church power structure?
In both cases "good men" did nothing and children suffered.
Huh?
What did Penn State football players do, exactly, to warrant their opponents refusing to shake hands?
I believe Steelhead referred to it and I saw a quick replay of it at the bar but apparently they started some crap during pregame and the teams had to be separated. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
You still shake hands to start the game. What the fvck is wrong with people these days, that they are so butthurt over every real or perceived act of disrespect?
