I'm not making any prediction about our game against Clemson. It's a tough road environment, ND has had many puzzling losses in recent years, and anything can happen in the course of a single game. That said I think Clemson is primed to take a big step back this year, will not be a top 25 team, and right now is one of the more overrated teams on our schedule.

Clemson people think this ones in the bag-I've heard that on Atlanta talk shows-we will see. This is the game along with southern cal that I'm waiting for. Like last year at FSU I am convinced Notre Dame will play very very well and Clemson people will see a great Notre Dame team. These are the games you go to Notre Dame to play in. Classic on the road football. I just hope it doesn't end in official controversy like FSU last year.

I was in Death Valley in '97 for Davie's Signature Game. ND scored first, no penalties, no turnovers. At halftime the raucous crowd left in droves. From the mid-third quarter on the ND fans drowned out the few LSU fans still in the stadium. I never seen a fan base exit a stadium with so much time left.

In '02 I was in Doak Campbell about 5000 ND fans clad in green marched into the stadium before the game chanting, "HERE COME THE IRISH!" Once again ND scoredon the first possession and hushed the Tomahawk Chant. ND broke the game wide open in the 3rd quarter. Credit to the FSU fans they stayed in the stadium until the gun although rather quietly.

I was only 10 when that happened, but I remember that sea of green. Jesus, it seemed like we were a much more enthusiastic (aka. batsh*t insane) fanbase back then. Of course, a decade of mostly futility will take it out of you.

We had won 7 in a row going into that game and the fan base was pumped. The defense was creating turnovers and the smoke and mirrors offense was scoring on short fields.

The LSU was even more batsh*t insane. No sea of green but the Irish fans were noisy. LSU rocks the house before the teams come on the field. The band marches to midfield and plays a rousing tune facing the home side of the stadium. After the tune the band bows to the fans on that side. Those fans stand and go apesh*t. The band turns 90 degrees and marches to the end zone. Repeat the tune, repeat the bow, and the fans standing and cheering. The band marches back to midfield faces the visitors side (filled with Cajun fans) and repeat the tune, the bow, and the fans standing. Then they march to the other end zone and repeat again.

The stadium is in a frenzy BEFORE their team takes the field. If you've never been to Death Valley at least half the fans are inebriated before they enter the stadium. ND security wouldn't let better than half of those people in ND stadium but it's S.O.P. in Baton Rouge.

ND wins the toss and returns the kick to mid-field. A few plays later it's 7-0 and the rowdies are hushing in disbelief. ND D holds the Tigers and stifles the LSU offense. Before half time fans are leaving the stadium. I've never seen such front runners. ND increased the lead in the 3rd Q and it was Exodus time. I taped the game at home and throughout most of the second half you can clearly hear "WE ARE ND!" and other ND cheers over the announcers. We were even cheering "SEC SEC SEC!" but THEIR HOUSE was IRISH!

Death Valley became Deaf Valley.

He gave a thumbs up on his way out so hopefully it's just precautionary.

He would have had mismatches all over out back field. Bad for them. Good for us.

Clemson has a deep WR pool and 2 dynamic 5 star freshmen. 2 talented sophomores as well. We'll still have our hands full. Still the scariest game for me.

It was in the tweet embedded to the right of the main storyline. Sorry, I rarely post stuff on EPSN so not sure how to single out only the tweet.

This is great for ND and most Clemson news has been for the past few months. General public will look at this game as a huge game since Clemson is already ranked top 15, and will likely win out through week 5. Gameday and a battered Clemson team. Don't wish for injuries ever, but football wise, this is shaping up to be a huge opportunity we should be able to take advantage of.

FWIW, he is a good player but this isn't a position where they lack talent. They have some other ballers like Charon Peake and Deon Cain who can really play.

Whatever.... I'll wish a 7 day high ankle sprained on everyone from their Heisman candidate down to a 5th string walk on punter the week before gameday.

I ain't even above that.

Cheering a kid breaking his neck?

Classy, fellas...

Who's cheering for injuries or serious injuries? Classic IE drama mama post. No one said they hope he broke his freaking neck, just that football wise with the OL going supplemental, the kicker suspended, the injuries, that this is a great opportunity for ND to take advantage on the field against a depleted team with a lot of people watching thinking Clemson is deserving of their ~10th ranked team.

Hey I know this is a long shot. But I am looking for two tickets to this game, I plan on driving up from FL to go with my wife. Stub hub prices are a little high, If anyone knows anyone looking to sell, it would be much appreciated if you pointed them in my direction.

Thank you.

GO IRISH!

This whole thread is filled with bad mojo/karma with people getting pumped about Clemson losing guys to injury. This thread is cursed just like ND football.

........I wish nothing but good health and well wishes to Clemson and all their injured.
