No, that is a lie. Their pass defense EFFICIENCY adjusted for opponents is in the 90s. They just suck in coverage, the end.

The reason their not elite run defense is ranked "6th" despite being outside the top 25 in efficiency is that teams are choosing to throw at their bad secondary... not the other way around.

It's not at all, NC State is expected to have better draft production, both at a high level (Chubb > anyone on Geogia's), as well as overall draft picks from the DL.

I think as a team they are overrated. I am worried about our guys knocking the snot out of USC and not bringing 100% to this game. No doubt our guys are physical and fast which I don’t believe NCST is close to that. Our screen game needs to improve so teams like UNST have one more dimension to worry about. They are very talented, don't get me wrong. But this entire hard on Koon has for them is cuz he saw something on Sportscenter and came on here to puke it all over us. The reality is that they give up more rushing yards that Georgia. So while they have a terrific pass rusher in Chubb, that does not equal being able to stuff us like Georgia.

No, but that's in large part due to Georgia having phenomenal linebackers; NC State cannot claim that they do. Chubb and the rest of the players on the D line may be better than Georgia's line, but the dropoff at linebackers is huge. ND will have success running the ball. I just don't think it'll be another 300 yards.

Know who has a better rushing defense than NC State? Michigan State. Sparty has allowed 654 yards all year. We have 182 of them.

It's almost like someone should come up with a DL efficiency ranking.... FOOTBALL OUTSIDERS: Innovative Statistics, Intelligent Analysis | 2017 NCAA DEFENSIVE LINE STATS

team - adj LY (opp adjusted), standard down LY, passing down LY, opp rate, power success rate, stuff rate, opp. adjusted sack rate, standard downs sack rate, passing down sack rate

UGA rankings - 3, 19, 6, 6, 7, 49, 67, 72, 115
Pack rankings - 24, 24, 16, 11, 13, 11, 75, 57, 81

So UGA is better in adjusted line yards, which is the only rushing metric opponent adjusted and it isn't close. Sacks wise, neither are all that great, opponent adjusted or not.

For those curious, Sparty is 27th in opponent adjusted line yards, so same as NCSU, and 21st in adjusted sack rate, better than both NCSU and UGA.

NCSU is much closer to MSU than UGA.
