Heading out for the evening. I hope we pull the upset but regardless I am so proud of our guys for playing so hard this year and showing such mental toughness... 7-0 against the hardest schedule anyone has played so far. Lost 3 of our 5 best returning players in the secondary and are still fielding a top 10 defense. So before we all lose perspective after the (most likely) loss... I hope we all recognize how much this team has over-achieved to not be 6-6 and instead be on track for a BCS bowl. First time in awhile I've been straight up proud of the team we've put on the field.

GO IRISH!

Whoa there, chief. I agree with you that we should keep it all in perspective, but doesn't our play this year that we are all so proud of merit a little faith?

No kidding. I believe that we are going to win today. I'm not going to let doubt creep into my mind. We deserve to be here. We deserve to win.

We have a very plausible chance of victory... somewhere in the neighborhood of 17% per Vegas and 25% to 30% in my book.

I just don't want people expecting victory and then going "OMG BRIAN KELLY BLEW IT!" or "OMG GOLSON BLEW IT!" or something like that... this is a schematic nightmare for our defense and nobody should be expecting ND to come out and whoop some ***. That's not a lack of faith, that's realism. I don't want to read a bunch of bullsh*t tomorrow from fans/journalists if we lose to an opponent who is favored by 13 points. I don't want to hear about ND being "exposed" or "overrated" or "not ready for prime time"... the fact is people have picked against us all year in big games and every single time we've come out with the W. If this one singular time we lose to a superior opponent on their home turf... so be it. There is no way to look at this matchup and not think Oklahoma is the more complete team.

With that being said, of course I'm rooting for an utter *** kicking. But rooting interest and evaluating the matchup are two different things.

"Realism" = "Sissification"

Notre Dame fans should expect us to win games we aren't suppose to. That is our heritage. Hiding behind "realism" is just being afraid.

We are an institution based on faith. This faith can't always be seen, but we believe regardless.

Love You Always, Lax.

That is exactly the kind of attitude I have been waiting for for years! Have some faith in your team and enjoy the ride!

I believe we can and will win. If we don't the guys will be just that more motivated to finish off the regular season 11-1. This team deserves our support. They are winning football guys in many different ways. Looking more and more like a mainstay program everyday.

I have pizza, beer, and a very respectable 3 fingers of Irish whiskey available for sipping as long as the Irish are leading. I'm hoping I'll need a 2nd bottle. GO IRISH!

Really hoping we can establish good field position throughout the game. Can't be driving 80yds every drive and expect to win. I think we can do it!

For those of you who would get confused... so, everyone, Cam and Jalen Brown are changing jersey #s for tonight.

Brian Hamilton ‏@ChiTribHamilton
RT @NDHeisler: Notre Dame's Cam McDaniel wearing 21 tonight in tribute to a HS classmate who drowned this week. Jalen Brown will wear 33.

I haven't been this excited about a football game in a while. I'm nervous but cautiously optimistic. This team is special. We will see just how special in twenty minutes...

I've got new Irish gear that just recently came in the mail that I'm afraid to wear today.

If true about Gunner, that's terrible. You can't treat quarterbacks like that. Especially a potential future starter. He needs to take in these types of experiences.

Also, how could they not have planned this better?

He could've sat on someone's lap for christ's sake. How do you not bring him?

edit - Where are you guys seeing this Gunner talk? They have been in Norman for a while now, I find it strange that this comes out 5 minutes before the game.
