I presume these are shots of the 90% empty seats at midfield. Nice.

We need to roll these guys by 20+ points or we lose ground at this point. I pulled up the game last night and thought, "crap, they are playing Thursday night to get extra prep time for us, those punks". Maybe they just really suck, has that crossed anyone's mind?

If Sark loses to ND and UCLA then most likely he will be canned right? I think he will do everything he can to motivate his team for next week. We won't really know until next saturday what the defeat last night means to them

USC has a lot of talent and no heart. Stanford showed us that if we play them physical and stay focused, this can be a blowout. I believe the toughest part of our schedule is Navy,Pittsburgh,Temple and Boston College. Isn't there like 2 losses between them? Pittsburgh is in line to win their division in the ACC. Those teams are making our SOS look better and better each week.

This is an excellent point - BC is getting a lot of respect for their defense, rightfully so. Even if they are not ranked, our offense gets a test against a premier defense.

Pitt's 27-24 loss AT Iowa is looking better all the time, they have UVA, GT, Cuse and UNC before us - all winnable games. Knowing Pitt they will crap the bed in at least one of those but they have potential to be a 7-1 ranked ACC front runner looking for a signature win when we come to town.

Temple and Navy are receiving votes in the polls. It all really boils down to Stanford taking care of business in the PAC12.

Hopefully our team learned a lesson from Clemson and come out fired up and ready to play.

I will never understand this. So many recruits talk about wanting to see that game day experience on their visits and this is what we consistantly see at USC yet they pull all the top recruits. I know there's a lot of other things that go into there decision but you can't tell me they enjoy the game day experience at these games.

i would think Sark would have been having them ready for this game as a way to show them he was ready for the USC job...never want to lose to the play you left...i just think Peterson had them more fired up...plus i think a lot of the kids there had a lil extra motivation despite them saying they didn't

not to mention Peterson is the better coach too

Attendance is mediocre for a program of USC's stature, but for many recruits it's location, location, location...the odds of a kid from TX or FL preferring South Bend to LA are small. ND can still get those guys, of course, but in spite of ND's location. It is an advantage only for recruiting some Midwestern kids.

its too bad we don't do negative recruiting. That picture of the empty stadium would be high on my list of things to send kids leaning toward USC.

Wouldn't matter. They would just offer more cash, hookers, and blow as enticements.

Stanford is 100x worse than USC when it comes to home game atmosphere and they have no issues either. You could look at ND and say why do kids want to play in a stadium on bad turf (in previous years) and with no jumbotron and a bunch of old farts in the crowd..

I don't think this loss neccsarily hurts us. It's looking to be like that the PAC 12 winner may end up with 2 losses, a 1 loss ND Team gets into the playoff over a two loss pac 12 team if you ask me.

A bunch of rich old farts who help make us the #1 business school in the country. You think your football monogram opens a few more doors than your classmates during the career fair?

You are claiming our atmosphere is not as good as the USC game last night. THAT element of recruiting is not a problem against USC and Stanford. If you cannot see that then I am not sure what else there is to say.

Never said that dude. I am just saying its possible for recruits to perceive the atmosphere at ND in a negative light on certain game days for a multitude of reasons.

You directly contrast your statement after saying USC and Stanford home atmosphere is not a problem. Seems that is exactly what you were saying.

I'm interested to hear how long their 3 injuries will take.

#7 (2nd leading receiver receptions wise) - Ankle
#75 - Starting Center - Knee Sprain
Some DL (not sure if starter) - unknown.

All 3 went down last night and did not return to the game.

I'm so torn here. On the one hand, it really would have been nice for USC to roll into South Bend next week ranked and overconfident. Would also be nice to see Cutty Sark churn out 4-5 more years of mediocrity for Troy.

But on the other hand, f*ck USC.
