I've got another nominee, chestertonlep. He passed away a number of years ago, but that old dude was as big an Irish fan as anyone here. Always had fantastic pictures from on campus on his site.

Whoa. I've only been here since 2011, technically. I don't think I deserve something as honoring as the Goshen award, certainly not yet, but I am extremely honored to be mentioned on your list, sincerely. Thank you, Bogtrotter.

With respect to both George Gipp and Goshen Gipper, neither of whom can be matched or replaced, I borrow and bastardize LBJ's words: "Accordingly, I shall not seek, and I will not accept, the nomination ... "

While I appreciate your mention, Beau, I am both humbled and bowed.

George Gipp died decades before I was born. Goshen Gipper passed tragically not long before I threw in with this motley and ever changing crew.

I saw then, and still do, see the overwhelmingly positive influence GG had. I'd rather not sully his name by throwing my hat into this ring.

I have my value, detractors aside, but I have no place in this Pantheon.

What's the criteria for this award?

This is essentially a lifetime achievement award named after Goshen Gipper who was a poster well known on this site in its early days (before my time). Goshen passed away. He loved this site and its posters and represented what is particularly great about IrishEnvy, that we are a tight knit, caring community and not all just about Notre Dame football. This award goes to people who have represented the website and community well over the years.

Voted for Pham, cause he definitely deserves it. Hard not to vote for ol' man Lep though. Chesteronlep used to upload all his pics to the Notre Dame board I used to be on before finding IE. He was pretty awesome too. A whole lot of great entries here, all are really worthy, tough category.
