Going to my first game at Notre Dame Stadium. Pretty stoked. And yes I will pull for the the team, and the coach, as I always have. (he's our coach til he ain't)

If you see a Mayberry looking dude out on the field during the game, it's me and I'll be coaching 'em up!

Will be out there for the game Saturday. Taking the bus2ND from Chicago and back. Had a good experience with it for the Texas game last year.

18 Stripes just published an interesting breakdown of the advanced metrics heading into the Stanford game:

Predictions:

S&P+: Notre Dame 29, Stanford 26
FEI: Stanford 27, Notre Dame 26
MB: Notre Dame 31, Stanford 28. Both of these teams are in free-fall, and the best route to scoring seems to be passing the ball on either side. I think Kizer and the Irish receivers are a bigger advantage than the banged-up Stanford secondary has over Notre Dame’s youth. Also I hate David Shaw, and cannot predict a win for him.

Hey, kind of a shameless plug, but from 3 PM today to 3 PM tomorrow is the 24 hour run for our Navy ROTC unit to raise money for the St. Joseph's county special olympics, so 2 of our midshipmen run around campus for an hour at a time in a shark costume with someone in a trident. We have a booth right on North Quad by the War Memorial (Stonehenge) so feel free to stop on by if you guys can!

Anybody else going to the game? I've talked with a few guys already. I'm coordinating an unofficial Irish Envy low key tailgate. Free beer to anyone that stops by. Not grilling this time though, just some snacks and stuff. Gotta contact me before tomorrow though, so I know how much to bring.

you can always hit the linebacker after the game. Stay late enough and the coaches might show up but be warned you have force your way through the crowd and its really a shithole. It can be fun after an nd game, but you also run the risk of getting beat up by devin butler.

Would make the team 1-0 to begin the second half of the season and means Shaw didn't slap his bag on Kelly's face again. It would also mean 3 straight losses for Tree which might start to break down their recruiting momentum.

I agree a win against Stanford does not turn the season around but it does stop the bleeding. Lose this game and we are most likely looking at 4-8 or worse. Win this one and still could still possibly (though unlikely) get to 6-6. The season is shot in the sense that no matter what happens going 2-4 in six games against bad opponents is totally unacceptable but the outcome of today's game will impact the narrative going into the bye week. Lose and it will be real ugly, win and there will be some salvageable remains for the rest of the year.
