I honestly don't know if McCaffrey is incredibly overrated or an absolute beast. Huge play after lookin ordinary all game.

He finished 126 yards on 22 carries and 210 all-purpose yards.

You take away the two runs, one was a blitz and he ran right by guys. The first one he had a lot to do with, bouncing off guys. I counted at least three broken tackles on that first run. We were inconsistent consistently, let's put it that way.''

When our RBs break tackles they're great RBs when the guy who broke Barry Sanders All-Purpose Yards record break tackles it's "meh".

He looked like Bettis breaking through left tackle for a TD.

He looked like Rocket taking that punt to the house.

Bettis AND Rocket. He is an incredible athlete.

Yeah I'm feeling a lot more optimistic about Stanford and MSU after tonight.

Unfortunately MSU has 2 weeks to fix their problems. Stanford on the other hand has to run through U$C, UCLA, Washington and WSU before heading to South Bend. They will be battle tested but also worn down by Oct 15

Did anyone else see the graphic during the UW/Stanford game showing the home/away split for Mccaffery? I found it interesting that his only offensive touchdown in a true road game is a pass that he threw.

The title says Stanford and that was the box score for a Stanford game in the 2016 season.

Contrary to the widespread weeping and gnashing of teeth around on the board, with a decimated secondary to start the season, ND lost by 3 in OT, lost by 8, lost by 3 ... and all games were winnable. ND will have to track meets but no opponent can be beat. Unfortunately most could win.

The secondary isn't going to turn into Shane Walton and Bobby Taylor overnight BUT if just the team tackling improves they don't have to.

IF SU plays like they did tonight we'll win by double digits.

That's been my mentality. I told my dad when we got the tickets...it really doesn't matter how good or bad either team is, this is usually a good game. Plus ND's offense should keep them in almost any game.

Stanford is not very good. Notre Dame is a sloppy, horribly coached team. Before this week I thought we had no chance to win this game, now I am not so sure. Our defense has been serviceable the last 6 quarters so perhaps we can string together the first complete game in the season. At the end of the day I feel poor preparation and coaching cost us the game, but this is an absolute must win as Miami, Va Tech, and Navy all look like worse matchups at this point.
