The teams I put in the top 4 all have a better resume than the rest of the undefeated. Who has TAMU beaten? How about us? Ole Miss? Florida State? Baylor? UCLA?

By the selection committee's criteria I think that's your 4 right now. We're 1/4 through the season and I seriously doubt MSU stays in the conversation but they belong there now.

Someone's being awfully confrontational this morning, aren't they?

I really did mistype. Everett is good, great even. But have you watched 'Bama's backs run or Cooper leave CBs with twisted hips? They are unreal. All are better than EG.

Now who the fuck is the Toomer you keep taking about? The corner? Is there supposed to be a joke in there somewhere?

From the Great Santini I think!

Yeah, we definitely don't have the sort of OL we had a couple of years ago. They're good, but not great. We aren't able to blow open holes and run at will like in the past. Sims has been a huge surprise. He's turning into a heck of a qb and having Cooper to throw to isn't hurting any. I wasn't sure how Kiffin would work out, but so far, he's exceeding all expectations.

There doesn't seem to be one or two dominant teams this year. Nobody looks unbeatable so far.

1. OU 2. Bama 3. Oregon 4. Texas A&M 5. FSU

That would be my top 5 too, but no idea as to what order I'd put them in. Too early to tell yet. All could probably beat or lose to each other on any given day.

Yup, it's true. That system also has USCw andLSU ahead of us along with a 1-2 Clemson only 2 spots behind ND (14th) at 16. It's atrocious. You know you have a flawed metric that has a team with a loss in the top 5 the early in the season. Disgraceful.

It they also have a metric called Team Efficiencies that puts Ugga at 2 and FSU at 35. These guys really know what their doing.....

Why does everyone think TA&M is a top 5 team? There is no way they are right now. Lamar, Rice, and SMU c'mon. South Carolina was there one big win and South Carolina's vaunted SEC defense has given up 52,23,35, and 34 (to Vandy this week) so far this year. Maybe putting 52 on them was not a big deal. A&M has been no more impressive than we have thus far IMO.

Ole Miss has done literally nothing this year and is 15-11 the last two years. Mississippi State and A&M and Auburn all have a better resume right now than they do.

I'm sorry I just don't get how Ole Miss is a top ten team right now in the rankings. I know they've recruited well, but I just don't see them being better than 9-3 anytime in the near future.

It is going to be an interesting year week by week. It is well proven how hard it is for any team to play very well every week. This week, almost no one looked invincible (who played a semi-decent team). A top SEC team lost to possibly the worst team from a horrible conference (looking at you Mizzou). I was getting depressed thinking how overrated the Irish are getting after looking at how weak our schedule is becoming. Maybe Purdue is the best we've played. I for one over-estimated Rice and Michigan. Fortunately we have not been challenged, so we have that.

Oregon struggled; Bama took time to handle a pathetic team; WVU is really not good, and Oklahoma didn't pull away; Auburn was not impressive (imo) (nor was Kansas St). Stanford and USC are hot and cold teams. UCLA and FSU have not impressed. Still waiting for TAM and Baylor to play someone to truly evaluate. Maybe Utah and BYU will be in the championship?

Bottom line is this year is as much a crap shoot as last year, and the year before were. All the experts are consistently wrong; and I'm no better.

The selected 4 will look nothing like today's polls.

This season has 2007 written all over it. I expect November to be pure madness.
