I do like our odds if it ends up being cold and rainy. Seems like any team far south of the Mason Dixon line ends up struggling a bit in South Bend when we have those kinds of November games.FEI is only projecting Clemson as 3.2 point favorites, but that doesn't take the weather into account. If the cold and rain force the Tigers into a rock fight, I like our odds.
Ok, what reputable source will acknowledge ND Stadium is tough to play in? Even Goolsby admitted it was nothing compared to the other “name“ stadiums around the country that he played in like Neyland, Big House, Tallahassee, etc.Nice hyperbole
Fair but makes the fact that Stanford can come into the intimidating pit of chaos known as Notre Dame Stadium and embarrass the Irish in prime time that much more nauseating.![]()
I'll say second most.
Let’s hope that’s as good as it gets. I still remember the 2015 typhoon in Death Valley. We owe them big. This doesn't seem like it is going to be comfortable.
It was tough for us when Georgia played at home, Lol. That was embarrassing.Ok, what reputable source will acknowledge ND Stadium is tough to play in? On second thought, you gave me an idea…they should rename it the HyperBowl
the list of things that the Irish are ”due to benefit from” is one long ass list. The Irish are due to actually benefit from a deluge.
At the end of the day, you’re right. Win games & the crowd should react accordingly. Play patty cake w/ two trash teams…one from a University that couldn’t give a fiddlers fuck about football & you get what we have this year. When ND sucks or it is a bad game ( opponent or way of play) the stadium can be a tomb. But for big games we do all right.
Does it keep Clemson fans from traveling? They didn’t get to visit in 2020 but will the weather keep them away? Thanks to that weather (I assume), ticket prices are looking very reasonable...
Heading into the SU game, he’d been having a nice bounce back season. Hopefully the SU game rattles his confidence. Still no one’s confidence looks more shook than Pyne’s. He claims he wants to be “coached hard” but I agree with Pete Sampson when he says “not buying it”DJ Ukelele (not gonna try to spell it) has been a massive disappointment for Clemson, but he will have another stellar game against us.
Think the game plan will be to take Shipley away and make Uke beat us.
He will.
This is will be a shootout if we can do anything offensively. Stops will be hard to come by for us, and the only way to win is make it hard for them too.
(None of this is grounded in reality, just a gut feeling)

Bias aside, because I've been to some sleepy home games, but ND stadium can get loud in certain situations, particularly night games. I can't point you to any sources, but as someone who's been to the Big House and Spartan Stadium as comparisons, night games, with the right game (i.e. not Stanford) it can get noisy.Ok, what reputable source will acknowledge ND Stadium is tough to play in? ND can get noisy. But it's not a scary place. I can have a convo with my dad pretty easy and neither of us got good hearing.Bias aside, because I've been to some sleepy home games, but ND stadium can get loud in certain situations, particularly night games. Been to several USC night games, and UNC last year, and it was a good environment. Can't say it's SEC level or anything, but it beats MSU/scUM. The Big House is not that loud for 115k fans, in all honesty.
siap
forecast calling for mid to upper 40's with chance of rain and 40 mph wind gusts. we may be in 14 personnel all night.

Clemson has a better QB and a more balanced offense. Cold and rain make it difficult to move the ball through the air, which neutralizes their main advantage over us. If it comes down to line play, RBs, and special teams, we've got a much better chance of winning.I'm torn on the weather being a huge favor to ND. Can someone explain?
Even in good weather, ND won't be successful running 75% of the time against Clemson's D. The cold, rain, and wind just makes it more impossible for Pyne.
Clemson may before forced to run more, but I was never that worried about our pass defense in this game to begin with.
Maybe the cold bothers some Clemson players and ND can take advantage? Maybe the weather keeps the scoring down on both sides, further increasing ND's odds? But in terms of matchups, I'm not sure how this changes things for me, personally. If anything, I think it will make it harder on ND to move the ball.
The reason Wake almost beat Clemson was because Hartman was 20-29, 337 YDS, with 6 TD's. Ask yourself if Pyne can do that.
Mason is one of the reasons ND has a chance in this game. A punt block or kick return could be the deciding factor, especially in sloppy weather.Clemson has a better QB and a more balanced offense. Pyne definitely cannot do those things, obviously. He has a sub 50% completion rate the last 3 games, against defenses way worse than Clemson. However, if he can go for like 50% and 150 yards with no turnovers, ND will be in it.The reason Wake almost beat Clemson was because Hartman was 20-29, 337 YDS, with 6 TD's.
